I know it is against the law on these boards, but is Alex Pearce any good?

Why is he scared to tackle people and constantly backing off his man?

TACKLE HIM FFS

Jerry St Clair I don't give a shit how young/inexperienced the players are. Tackling is a basic concept that any footballer should be able to do, especially professional ones playing in the second division.

Absolutely woeful.

I think the problem is that they are just not good enough. Whether they may eventually come good is a different matter, personally I don't think the majority of them will ever be up for this league, but I think the time the manager realises that it will be all too late.

SteveRoyal I don't want to know what Rodgers' says about this second-half collapse.

Probably that he wants the club to be "world class" but it might take nine or ten seasons to get there.
If this continues much longer the fans will start to turn.

Royal Monk
Doncaster are in the same league as us you idiot

He never said they weren't .... knob

Who rang your bell.

The fact he started by mentioning a league 1 team followed by doncaster, clearly suggests he thought they were in the same league. If you can't see that, then you're an idiot too.

they got 3. should have been 4. could have been 6. so, on balance, im as happy as could be expected. feel sorry for feds on that error, i know thatll fester, nothing to be done, those things happen.

we were bossed all over the park today by a not particularly replendant opposition. they showed off the holes that are glaringly obvious and that need plugging. fast. church can take advantage of liverpool's interest as far as im concerned. his goal returns on the various loans he has done so far have been nothing to write home about and he was inneffective during his short cameo this afternoon. i dont think it is a question of experience. i just genuinely fear hes not very good.

how long do we have to wait for dimwits like him to come good? The third goal is an absolute joke from a defensive point of view.

Like something I see playing in a match between 2 pubs

You could definitely use a decent striker to hold the ball up. You played some nice stuff but if the ball keeps coming back then its gonna be hard in this league. Having a lump like henderson up front takes some pressure off.

This is as much as was expected for the start of the season when a side has been ripped apart like we have by the ego money mad monster, we have mnaged to get rid of our premiership team, and replaced them with the cheap option, and are expecting to do well with what is not much more than our youth team of a couple of years ago. I have great confidence in the manager, and the young players, but for them it is happening all too soon, they should hve been drafted into a more experienced side to gain invaluable confidence, at the moment all I can see is it jus going from bad to worse. We have a few days before the window closes, will we bring anyone in, well if the past few are anything to go by, I wont be holding out for much in that depatment, his famous qoiute when we sign a player that "this shows the full ambition of the club" dont make me laugh !! his only ambititon is to penny pinch his way to the first division. Sir JM took all the plaudits when we got to the Premiership, and now he is destroying everything we had achieved over the past 3 or 4 years and all the hopes of the supporters, I would dearly love to know what his ambitions are for the club, certainly a return to the premiership ist one of them. What we have been left with is a fragile paper thin squad of youngsters and the lower earners. Even the staunchest RTG must be wondering what the hell is going on.

...and im not blaming church solely for the defeat. if you reat the post he makes up a portion of it. the rant i think youre imagining would have gone something like this:

'church was oxf*rd oxf*rd. it was his fault the useless tosser. the sooner he oxf*rd off to merseyside the better for reading and the entire thames valley region'.

but thats not what i think. so its not what i said. with me?

Not really yuomi. Why select one player to mention who was a sub today and not remotely the reason why we lost today. With me?

counting feds pearcey there were two players mentioned in the post, which kind of proves my point. why did i pick on church? besides the fact i really wasnt expecting you to fight his battles for him, today was another example (as i said 'in his brief cameo'..!??!?) that he isnt really very effective in our forward line. just as he hasnt been very effective in the forward lines of the teams he has been loaned out to in the past, as reflected by his goal-to-game tallies. in fact, very little of my objection to church was surrounding today's game so i really dont see why youre getting your knickers in a twist over it.

however, as a retroactive disclaimer; it is clearly wrong of me to insinuate it (even if i didnt and you choose to interpret it that way) that simon church was illustrative of our poor result today. clearly, given the limited time he was on the field, he should not be expected to contribute allot. there were other reading players just as bad and, dare is say it, worse..(!)

happier now?
