Shame Anton left the club in such a bad financial situation, will it ever all come out, who knows.

PS I think the buy out included repaying the debts to JM as well, ( £17 mill I think at last seen accounts.) which I think might be why the club is now in the deep mire, well shallow mire anyways.

I can only guess that Anton repaid using the Prem Money, while still overspending on the likes of Pog etc etc.

It is believed Zingarevich became disillusioned with football when Reading were relegated from the Premier League last season.

What a TWAT

Good riddance

Not sure that isn't just a piece of shoddy easy journalism. If they had bothered to do a bit of digging like the guy on Twitter did (quoted elsewhere, either on this thread or another) they would also have seen how committed (over stretched?) the Zingarevichs appear to be in relation to the Winter Olympics at Sochi. I'm not sure if it's so much a case of AZ losing interest or BZ pulling the plug on his plaything as the funds are needed elsewhere.

This then relates to all the people slamming SJM and Nigel Howe over diligence. SJM always talked about the 'Zingarevich family'. BZ was in this, with AZ as the face. Chances are AZ never had any money anyway, if BZ didn't actually own the club then he was at the very least providing the funding for it. I am not sure how far you can blame SJM if the family as a whole have changed priorities and focus since the first half of the deal was completed. SJM would not have been privvy to what the Zingarevich's business commitments were, so it's not unreasonable for him to believe that he was passing the club to a wealthy family that would take Reading to the next level.

I think it was always pretty clear that AZ had no money of his own ...

Reading were firmly in the Championship when he bought in

Classic Anti spin I wouldn't put too much credence on this sort of BS.

Adkins has suggested money is there to do business even without any takeover being completed. Charles Watts will put the story up shortly. Shake a leg, Hammond!

@charles_watts can we do no business at all until new ownership is confirmed??

Charles Watts ‏@charles_watts 1h
@flamesgeorge Adkins certainly suggested that yesterday.

george williamson ‏@flamesgeorge 9m
@charles_watts what did he say?

Charles Watts ‏@charles_watts 7m
@flamesgeorge story is online later.

I read that as no business until new ownership is confirmed

Unless we sell a keeper based on the other tweets/EP stories

Madejski was quoted, I think only yesterday, saying that if the takeover didn't happen in time that we could raise the money in other ways.

Adkins quote today suggests different, as you say, Uke.

"There's talk about new ownership which is good because there will be good investment in time but we have to be patient"

Hammond shakes a leg and out pops from his pocket 10 pence and an old looking fiver. He then spends 3 days worrying whether to spend the money or not on the transfer window. After counselling, soul searching and sleepless nights he decides to put the fiver back in his pocket and spend the 10 pence on the our transfer budget. He thought about throwing in a packet of M & M's into the kitty too but decided against it after concerns that it might be a little indulgent.

Like Coppell and McDermott before him, agreeing that there was money to spend - I always used to say it could be £150 but it won't get you very far - having money to spend and having "enough money to spend" are two totally different things....and it sounds from Charles Watt's tweets that there will be no money available until someone has taken us over. :cry:

Really? I was getting all excited by the article saying that part of any handshake would be a January advance?
