Away goals don't count which is good.

I guess that Cardiff will be set up pretty defensively then tonight, and us likewise on Tuesday.

I don't think away goals have ever counted in the playoffs (at least not for the last few years) and they're usually rather high-scoring games.

In fact it's very arguable these days that the only thing the away goals rule does is make teams play more defensively than usual at home. Wouldn't be surprised if it's scrapped across the board before too long.

I didn't expect you to be the recipient of a massive :| , Roberto.

I'm far more excited about this play-off game, than I was against Burnley. Dunno why. Perhaps I just don't want a Welsh club in the final and to do that, we've got to knock Cardiff City out. (I have nothing against the Welsh per se. But ........ ). AND I want a day out at Wembley too.

Archie's penalty
Ian Royal Not excited in the slightest. I was, but we're showing that we simply aren't good enough at the moment and tbh I'm more expecting us to get utterly embarassed than win.

Is this proper negativity or ironic negativity?

The negativity of this board astounds me.

Yup, and if the crowd has their attitude that will affect the players.

Reading are TOP of the table for the last 17 games, second top for the last 28 games,
in both cases higher than QPR who are champions. In that same run we also beat two
Premiership sides, using the squad and only lost 1-0 to a side now in next year's
Champion's League and cost the GDP of South America to put together

Considering how you've chastised, nay abused, other posters in the past for incorrect stats I think it's about time you took some of your own medicine for this one.

GDP of South America (using purchasing power parity) in 2009 (the most recent figures I could find) was $4.061 trillion dollars. Don't think Man City's squad cost that much.

So, time for you to type the following 4.061 trillion times:

I am a x

You must substitute x for one of the following adjectives:

cretin / arsehole / imbecile / moron / idiot

Others may add to this list depending on which insult you have levelled at them.

More as an answer to Ian Royal than to anyone else, we don't have to be on our top form tonight.

All we need to do is be on better form than Cardiff, which is much more achievable.

Snowball seriously suffers from what the French call "esprit d'escalier," but thankfully on an internet forum he can just keep posting as comebacks occur to him, often resulting in several posts back-to-back (he still hasn't realised that this constitutes poor forum etiquette, or else doesn't care).

I've got to the stage where I'm properly nervous. Don't remember feeling this bad before previous play-offs, maybe because I either had blind faith or didn't expect us to go through. This time round I've got no idea what's gonna happen.

No doubt already been covered in length as this is now a 9 pager, but coupled with general apathy towards football and RFC in general, the fact we've been in the premier league before also takes the edge of it for me.

Yeh it'd be kind of cool to see "us" promoted again, I guess - but nothing will ever match getting there for the first time.

Although that said even I have been posting on the Team Board more than usual this week, and a slow week at work surely only goes some of the way to explaining this.

I have just got changed for football so it has just hit me how nervous I am now. Was very calm this morning. Just want us to score first so my nerves can simmer down slightly.

I've got butterflies now - it's utterly pathetic really - "it's only a game". I have never felt like this about ANY of our previous play off games, even the finals. WHY do we do this to ourselves!!
