Stranded We don't win on Friday at 2pm - best lead is 5 pts. West Ham beat Barnsley (5.15ko) and then beat Brum at home on Easter Monday. We kick off at Brighton the next day 1 point behind them.

Win and no worries.

Ah I see. You forget they have Brum at home though. 8) Lets not worry about what they do. We'll be fine - would rip your arm off from 6 points from our next 3 fixtures that's for sure.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing but faith in this team at the moment - just thought it was an interesting quirk due to the way the fixtures have been scheduled over Easter.

Am confident the team will do the job on Friday.

If we beat Leeds - I think we'll do it. Said before West Ham if we won that & Leeds we'll get over the line.

We really ought to be beating Leeds - they're not very good. Problem is we're the team to aim for now so visitors will be giving an extra 10%.

Still I have faith. If we go about our business the right way, I'm confident the gap will be the same by the time we get to the Saints match.

More worried about Brighton than Leeds but who knows?

Colin always gets his boys up for us. We're rising to the challenges this season though; I expect us to come through.

I think its more the opposite if you ask me, we have had the beating of Colin over recent times, especially when he was in charge of Sheff Utd.

I just hope Leeds don't go down to 10 men. He seems to have sussed out how to beat us that way.

That is true. Unless its their 'keeper, as he doesn't usually put a 'keeper on the bench.

If WHU were to win 4 and draw 2 of their last 6 games that would leave them on 86 points. We would therefore need 11 points from our last 6 games. Given I do not think WHU will do that I feel 3 wins might now be enough. Also would like Brum to secure a top 4 finish before the last game as we do not want them having anything to play for in the last game just in case.

I reckon we could have this done by the last home game...providing we don't lose at Southampton. Sounds obvious to say, I know. If we beat Southampton (and if Brian watches the tape of their defeat against Blackpool I am sure there's confidence to be gained there) then we could nick the whole shebang.

Given we're 4 ahead of West Ham now, and possibly 7 ahead after Leeds - psychologically, they could feel out of it already.

The tough games for us are obviously the away ones, but I'd take draws from the remainder of those...as we knows West Ham will also draw, or worse some of their remaining games, they simply will.

Forest at Home will be tougher than it once looked, but we should be best them. Palace won't even be bothered by then either by the time that comes around. Brum will be inconsequential, in my book par a good party!

On the SB Stats thread I looked at our opponents Home/Away form
and all six games are losable, and we could draw some.

IMO we need to start the right way and beat Leeds.

If we manage to lose it and then WHU win, it's all up for grabs again

Nor in the game at Palace. QPR on the other hand, which was much more recently than either.

I can't help but thinking our recent away days at Donnie and Peterborough are a little worrying. Bearing in mind their results since, we really should have done better. But that said though I would still expect us to get draws at Southampton (especially now Lambert is crocked) and Brighton (just a feeling) so it is really down to us at home. Win your home games and draw your aways and you get promoted. Simple as, however Leeds is a real unknown and Palace have the ability to hurt with Zaha especially.

I refuse to get carried away. I love the optimism everywhere but am petrified if we fail and end up in the PO. Game over if we do after all of this.

I worry too, but the killer game was at West Ham. Winning that was ENORMOUS
and we are a full six-points better off than if we had lost.

Frankly, if we can blow a "six-point" bonus over six games we don't deserve to go up.

On the Leeds, WNG. Be nice to WN6G too, but...

The real issue IMO is how the hell does Sam A raise the morale of his troops?

They must be shattered and expecting to be in the POs

The only positive I can see for them is a kind of reverse psychology. Now, if they think "We are not getting auto"
they might relax and then their undoubted player-for-player ability might shine through

I'd be happier if we were all more cautious/pessimistic

This close in the last thing we want is over-confidence

Absolutely spot on

Comparing the games we have with West Ham

Leeds(H)........... Barnsley(A)
Brighton(A)........ Birmingham(H)
Saints(A).......... Brighton(H)
Forest(H)......... Bristol C (A)
Palace (H)......... Leicester(A)
Birmingham(A)... Hull(H)

I think, on balance, I would prefer theirs. Their away games are easier than ours and our home games look a bit easier then theirs

I agreee that neither team has an easy run in but I can see problems for West Ham.. away to two teams fighting relegation plus Leicester
Also Hull have excellent away form and Brum have it all to do..

The pressure in the last six games is massive and both teams will drop points so a four point lead is MASSIVE

Only time i saw a team fy through the last six games was with the pressure off...ie amassing 105 points at the time.
