The new kid has been out six months, played ONE reserve game, has been at RFC
little more than a day and still looked better than Simon has recently.

Understand him being brought in to play the Roberts role, but then we didn't use him like Roberts...

If he gets the chance, will get a lot better every game. But if Roberts is fit, surely the new guy will be benched?

McD can get away with not playing Alf and Churchy, but if he drops Noel something is radically wrong.

McAnuff did have a VG game and he was often swamped by defenders, so great game, Captain!

Kebe wasn't terrible but he looks injured, and what's with the strapping on his leg?

Thought Cummings at RB improved us and he got better and better. He was likely to be nervous
after being dropped. I think he is going to be a top player in a few years time, especially if he bulks up.

Karakan and Elwood were immense again.

One moment when Karacan pulled down a stray pass, turned and pinged it to the RW
reminded me of Bobby Moore doing the same for WHU at Cardiff. Classy.

If Jem ever learns to score 6-8 goals a season he'll be a very VERY good player.

karacan is starting to play with a calm confidence, and is playing more like the box to box midfielder i'd heard we had coming out of the academy.

Good to see.

Maguire McAnuff for me I think.

Re: atmosphere. There isn't really any down the North end but what i will say is no matter how loud you think you sound in Y25/Y26, I can barely hear anything down the other end. Likewise with the away fans - unless there are 4000 stood up singing then I literally can't hear a thing.

Can't be, I can''t hear shit from Y25/26 from my location. The only fans I can hear are the ones in the North when blue army clap clap clap starts :|

I do wonder whether it's McD allowing them to get forward more

How many goals or shots from Elwood and Jem in the last half-dozen games?

Probably as many/more than the rest of the season

Its more that Karacan has become more experienced and the understanding they've developed with one another. They feel confident going forward because they know the other will cover them if we are caught in possession.

FWIW the Amex has better acoustics for those going on the tenth

Could be.

Certainly see the "thanks-mate" dualism of the two CBs

Our brand new on loan striker
Kept looking to drop short
"Why do they lump the ball up there?
It`s not how I`ve been taught".

I did feel sorry for the lad
He wants to link the play
Brian needs to tell him quick
It aint the Reading way.

No points then for Olly
No way past our back four
A thirty five yard volley was
The only way they`d score.

Next up West Ham United
And waving silly socks
Leicester fans were waving scarves
What a bunch of cocks.

I'm all for poetic license, but they didn't score from a 35 yard volley. Otheriwse good effort.

The Rouge
Man Friday Noel Hunt wasn't at the races today though. Can't recall him winning a single header.

WHAT
THE
F* :?:

Noel played well, but most of the time he was being beaten in the air and won very few headers, which is very unusual.
Perhaps it was because they were being lumped up to him in a straight line with a tall CB behind him, rather than across the pitch.

He won quite a few headers, often getting a head to them but them not going to Afobe. McD even commented in his match review that Noel won his headers..

Woodcote Royal I firmly believe Brian's ruthless streak will ensure that one day he will surpass the man whose achilles heel was in growing

Never knew you could suffer from an in-growing achilles heel :?:

Yeah, I was surprised at how little you hear... When you're in Y25/6 you think it's really noisey, but then it just seems to dissipate.

Normally sit in Y26 but on Saturday sat in Upper West

The noise from East Stand was very impressive and I thought I notivced Y24 joining in as well

Incidentally, all of Afobe's touches can be found here

He seems likely to play against West Ham.

Some good moments, some not ideal. Looks raw, but has a spark and assurance about him. Generally tries to bring others into play by holding up the ball or flicking on, has quick feet and looks more than capable of turning a man. Not on the ball much in dangerous areas?

Much like Roberts, lacks some of the nous. Thought he looked better in the air than Roberts, that has been my only disappointment with him.

I think he will be completely different against Sh*t ham. A week to settle in and build some confidence.

From clips I've seen he likes to take people on and looks to be a very rounded player!

I want him to be awesome so there is an extension on the cards for the EPL! LOL

There's also good reason for him to play the best football of his short (so far) career as he is a big Hammers fan and will no doubt want to shine.

He seemed to get better in the second half - which is promising
