CountryRoyal +1 to player. I've had it since 09/10 but it's drastically improved recently. At one stage a couple of seasons ago they were even putting the full match up after woods, either way though the highlights are longer, there are the full interviews with people from the club whenever relevant and you of course get commentary (sometimes  ) if you can't make it to a game and aren't in Berkshire.

As its now a standardised software across most if not all of the football league you can also log in to any other club's which id imagine will prove useful for all of the fans which will start 'supporting' us when we go up.

Yep, I occasionally make use of that, all in all for £38 a year, it's well worth the money.

After the Burnley game I logged onto their player and they had the whole 90 minutes of our game there.

Burnley are generally great in my experience. I listened to their commentary a few years ago when we played them and Clarke Carlisle and the main guy who was on shit all over anything Dellor and Gooding have ever done, let alone Peter Hood when it was 107. Interesting, informed and described what was going on really effectively. No 'hilarious' tales about traffic jams or horse racing.

tmesis Who cares what the managers have to say?

I'm interested and doubt I'm alone in that.

Never really understood those who slagged off the old BBC show and can't believe just how sh+te it's replacement is.

Claridge & Rosenior were always capable of highlighting what really mattered in the games from which only the goals were shown.

Frankly, after deeming that the highlight of last weeks game was a former Prem player coming on as a sub rather than one of the promotion favourites getting beaten at home, then showing literally seconds of Saturdays top game, they are off my SKY PLUS and I will stick with the extended highlights from the New HD Player.

agree with WR
I want to see all th major events of the game, including replays of difficult or contentious decisions, and I want to see what our manager said after the game.

Our manager, maybe, but do you give a flying fart about what the managers think in all the other games that weekend?

Even on MotD, all the interviewers try to do is get the managers to say something controversial.

You used to be able to just get the opposition feed directly from your Reading Player console. Now you have to log in to separate individual web sites.

Annoying but not totally useless. Agreed it's worth the money.

Sent an email to Ch 5 re: their highlights programme at the start of the season. Here's their response(which took an age to receive):

"Thank you for your recent e-mail regarding Football League Tonight. We apologise for the delay in responding.

We were sorry to read that you were unhappy with a number of aspects of this programme. As you may know, it is a new programme on Channel 5 and it is not in our interests, or indeed any broadcaster's interests, to alienate viewers. However, we all provide mixed schedules and, inevitably, there will be a dissonance of views about the content, format and presenters of our programmes.

Nevertheless, we do appreciate the concerns that have been expressed by viewers and are grateful to you for taking the time to let us know how you feel. Your complaint has been noted for the attention of all relevant personnel.

Thank you for your interest in Channel 5.

Yours sincerely

There's a number of pieces of mail software that can automate a response for you.

If anyone think's they're actually reading all of them they would be slightly deluded.

Dear Correspondent

Thank you for your recent e-mail regarding Football League Tonight.

We were sorry to read that you were unhappy with a number of aspects of the 8th August episode. As you may know, this is a new programme on Channel 5 and it is not in our interests, or indeed any broadcaster's interests, to alienate viewers. However, we all provide mixed schedules and, inevitably, there will be a dissonance of views about the content, format and presenters of our programmes. Nevertheless, we do appreciate the concerns that have been expressed by viewers and some changes to elements of the format of future episodes are likely to be made.

We are grateful to you for taking the time to let us know how you feel and have noted your complaint for the attention of all relevant personnel.

Thank you for your interest in Channel 5.

Yours sincerely

A generic reply is much better than no reply.
At least it shows they care!! :)

Ever tried emailing BBC? No acknowledgement, no generic reply, nothing

Yeah, I have. I got quite a good reply, given they were never going to agree with me.
