East Grinstead Royal Ian Holloway has a proven track record at this level.

So has Brian McDermott

I was thinking the same thing.Would rather have him or Mick Mcarthy than those foreign managers mentioned with little experience. I think Warnock is okay if he's your manager, it's the opposition fans he winds up.

he's grown on me in his media work (on radio anyway, I still cant stand his face)
and im not sure his 'style' would fit what the owners want

Warnock?!! I hope you all realise his name is an anagram of Colin oxf*rd!! . The team is a joke, the ownwership now a joke, the shirt sponsor a joke - that appointment would make a full set! Finish it off with a stand name of 'Rapidly Emptying Stand'.

John Smith I'd have been accepting of the decision to sack McDermott if he was replaced immediately. The fact it's taking so long is fast becoming clear that it was knee jerk or that Stam talks have broken down.

So long? He was sacked Friday, it's Wednesday. After a Bank Holiday Monday.

Mick McCarthy would be good. Not that he'd be given the time to achieve anything if recent history is worth anything.

He's been with Ipswich a couple of seasons now. He's probably the longest serving manager in the Championship.
He's doing a pretty decent job with very average players over there. He's a good manager.

Apparently we're in talks with Moyes

No way he'd come here though.

Why would he waste his time talking if there is no way he'd take the job.

Either we aren't 'in talks', or there are ways he'd come.

I suspect that like most of these rumours someone on the internet just made them up....

It would be a massive step down for Moyes to join a championship club with no money and erratic owners. He wouldn't come.

Moyes would be ace.

Stam: I just don't get the excitement on here. If you didn't know his name, you all would be wondering what the fcuk our owners were doing bringing in a manager of zero experience or success. Everyone has t start somewhere but do we really want to be a stepping stone for an untried manager who has probably never heard of Reading?

Was far happier with the proven track record and loyal longevity of McDermott, even if his start was as poor and slow as Clarke's and Adkins before him.

Never thought I'd ever say this sentence, but David Moyes would give me an erection.
