Don't get me wrong, Gourlay's decisions were a shit show, but if you're hoping to compete at the top of our league, the wage demands are so high it's very hard to keep up without parachute payments. Being a good selling club to absorb £10m or so of losses p.a. like Brentford is basically the only way.
