genome Hunt isn’t good enough

Let's give him a bit of time but the early signs certainly aren't good. I don't understand his tactics or substitutes.

Now for Dai to continue screwing us over by refusing to sell us.

Awful start for Hunt, but next game is about as winnable as it gets. If we do win, there's a good chance we'll be in the top 6 heading into the new year. If we don't, then it's time to panic.

Give Hunt a chance. He has had 3 tough games to start. If we win on Thursday against an out of form Northampton, we’ll all feel a lot better.

WestYorksRoyal Football is a psychological game, all professional sport is. We had been improving for 10 minutes or so. If the ref does his job and gives the most blatant penalty you've ever seen there's no knowing how the game goes.

One bit of luck and a win can change things very quickly. Last season showed that. This talk of relegation is far too premature.

Good post. Why do peeps suddenly start getting all dramatic like? It's early days for Hunty, so let's see the lay of the land in a few games time when other players have also returned. Chill man.

Problem is our side isn’t strong. We could lose our best players in a few weeks time with no one coming in. Those injured players will help but aren’t as strong as the players potentially moving

We’ve lost the manager who saw us through this situation last year and had done brilliantly this season

So so badly need that takeover to happen. There’s no way we can stay top half in our current situation imo

Let's wait and see how January goes. We've got a big head start on the bottom and there are plenty of poor teams in this division we can get 15 - 20 points from.

What's gutting is with the takeover we'd be thinking of top 2. If you look at the table after Selles' last game against Cambridge, we'd played the tougher teams away and were in good form. There's no way he leaves for Hull with stability behind the scenes, and you probably look at January as a chance to reinforce and kick on. As it is, we're counting the gap to the bottom 4. Relegation is still a risk this season and an inevitability next season if nothing changes.

And if we don't?

If we cant win any of the next three we are deep in it.

Have gone from relegation odds of 50/1 to 12/1 since Selles left!

This has a home loss written all over it

It's the Reading way. Players will be full of roast potatoes and sluggish.

If we can't beat neither Northampton or Mansfield at our own stadium where we've had a good record at for the last couple of years and performances are poor then questions should definitely be asked.

Terrible today all over the pitch and a deserved defeat. My one big take from the past two defeats is what has happened to the high press!!! If done well it is super effective and can create chaos in the opponents half and will create you chances.
The one positive with having a young squad is the fact they have energy and speed to burn which is perfect for a team playing the high press. Today it was non existent and we were outplayed outfought and out passed and second to every ball which isn't good enough against an average but street wise Lincoln team..

Its going to be tough for a while, Selles was adored by his players and had a tight knit squad that played his style of play to the letter, however, Selles seemed to be very vocal and often tough on his players and I'm thinking maybe Hunt is to nice of a person to cut it as a manager, only time will tell.

katweslowski We'll get relegated. Abysmal stuff and I don't see it turning around. The core and DNA of this gutsy team has gone, as it all hinged on Selles and his staff.

They had a real bond, an us Vs them culture and attitude.

This squad is lost and weak.

Overreact much?

Maybe we should deal with that if it happens.

This season is purely about survival. Thanks to Selles and his brilliant team (now gone), we have some decent points on the board….we’ll be fine

Chill

People speak about Selles but I reckon it is the loss of the rest of his backroom team that is just as impactful as I doubt we have anyone of a similar calibre at the club to analysis and plan tactics

Come back to me in May.

I've seen enough of this squad and this club in my life to detect an issue. It's clear to see.

So no, I don't think I'm overreacting. I am predicting a significant issue and one which is likely to see this club plummet down the table.

Hound
Armadillo Roadkill There was nothing to suggest that we would have got anything out of that game, even if we had been awarded a penalty and kept 11 players on the pitch.

Second week running of looking like the players had never met each other.

There wasn’t no, but if they’d gone down to ten (which I think could conceivably have happened) and we were back at 1-1 you’d hope we’d have not lost the game from there

Total agree - the foul on Smith for the penalty happened directly in front of us and it was as stonewall as you can get. There was no way the defender was getting to the ball without going through the back of Smith, which he did.

I was stood with a qualified ref who said it was DOGSO (denial of a goal scoring opportunity) so defender should have been sent off and we'd hopefully have scored the penalty and also been the ones playing against 10 men.

When I first heard he was going I thought JOP was a good candidate to step in. Then I realised he was being taken with him and one of the other key staff members.

You can tell they're struggling with patterns and playing style; maybe it's just hard to maintain with a complete change in staff.

I'm not sure why this needs saying. No one knows the future... Isn't that accepted by the entire population of the planet earth?

My point is that as with all of us, my prediction is based on gut feeling, balanced with previous results, current circumstances, etc ...

My thought here (and yes it's entirely negative) is bad. I feel they we as a club. Are in a horrendous situation and have been for several years. That's a fact.

However we've recently lost Selles. A man who had brought all these players together and got them achieving.

He's left and I don't have any faith that hunt can replicate this. He's dealt a losing hand and it's stacked well against him.

All of this is bit even considering the upcoming transfer window. Precious experience in recent years has seen player sold without any consultation with the manager.

A collective loss against now more street wise management teams. The old story of many technically excellent coaches not making good managers.
