This report from The Chronicle, written in August 2006 before the start of our first Premier League season sums the guy up perfectly in my view.
He was so detemined to get himself into the Royals line up that he actually over-trained during the summer and made himself ill.

And if you read the whole article you'll see that other clubs coming in for him is nothing new. His desire to play for the Royals makes me proud of him.
