Ian Royal Buy all the oil possible and store it under the car park. Price is bound to go up sooner or later in the next 20 years.

nah the future of energy is in those new speed bumps that generate electricity. oil is finished. actually you could buy a hundred of those for 2.5million and stick them all around the stadium...

winchester_royal Hopefully this 3 mil will go into signing a couple of players in Jan.

Don't care, would rather it goes into preventing the club being hit by the recession

How would it do that?

Huntley & Palmer 'greed with Mr Angry. Plenty of people on here that question Hammond as DOF but his nouse in the transfer market is outstanding, no wonder Arsenal tried to snaffle him a few seasons back.

Hold on there before historical revisionism kicks in. The DOF is responsible for negotiating contracts AFTER a deal has been initiated. From Mr Squeaky's own lips, although I haven't found the link to the Chronic report where I read same TBF.

Are you suggesting that DOF is now responsible for off-loading dead wood? Wouldn't this be part of the Scouting Teams activities, seeing as they are the ones making all the contacts with different teams in different leagues around the globe?

I get the impression DOF concludes the negotiations once deals have been agreed in principle. More a back-office worker than a whizz-kid trader, (to use a rather unfortuntae analogy in the current economic situation)?

strap Blah blah blah... To be frank, this alone makes the £550k wasted on Kebe, £250k on Bennett etc of no consequence. blah blah blah.

I thought, "What is this poster going on about!?". Then I saw it was Strap. WUM. 7 assists so far is hardly 'wasted'.

I'm sure I remember Coppell saying in the past that he identifies who he wants and then lets Hammond get on with agreeing a deal for them.

I doubt the scouts do any negotiating of any deals, and Coppell prefers to get on with the football side of things.

Why would a scout off load a player to another team, that is the job of the agent. Nicky Hammond determines how much players are worth in transfer value and personal contracts, same with outgoing players.

Way off topic, but they've made a bacteria that does that.

Perhaps this thread's title should be changed to "Fcuk off Fae"

What a fantastic bit of business!..............is Nick Hammond also a part time currency dealer :P

Too all those who fell over each other in the stampede to slagg off "Squeeky" this is yet more evidence of the fantastic job he does for this club.

I don't care how well this guy is currently playing in France, we don't need w@nkers who think the reserves are beneath them, especially when they've made so little impact in the first team.

With such a great track record for turning nobodys into Internationals (Doyle, Hunt and Long for starters) why should anyone be worrying about whether any of the proceeds of this deal will be spent on "players of note" in January?

As already mentioned, it seems the less we spend the better value we get for our money......................Squeeky for Prime Minister :D
