West Stand Man In case you suspect otherwise, I am a big fan of Hunt - which you would know if you had read other threads. I am not necesssarily a big fan of Oster's, but I will not knock him unjustifiably, which is what you and several others are doing. He is a good quality pro footballer - not some drain on the club's resources as you seem to think.

Fair enough re the spread - it's just that I read only The Times. However, I don't believe I am knocking Oster unjustifiably. I do think he is an o.k. footballer (say, Championship standard) but I also think that he doesn't show enough commitment. I like my Reading players to be fully committed like Doyle, Hunt, Kitson, Rosenior, Ingi, the list goes on and on. If Oster had sublime skills I could perhaps (and only perhaps) excuse his lack of commitment but he hasn't and therefore I can't.

PEARCEY I dont know why some of you get so worked up about Hunty getting a bit of criticism. Most of us have appreciated all of his efforts and at times no little skill, ie Goodison Park last season, Sunderland this season but there have been games when he has been poor. It does not mean that those of us that dare mention that are traiterous...just pointing out he was below par.

I think it was the silly opening post that goat most people's hackles up. Hardly reasonable criticism is it?

Alan Partridge Utterly atrocious footballer.

That is all.

We have to find out if he (Convey) is up to the PL by the end of the season.

Why?

Typical nonsense. Let's start resting players at looking at others in the middle of relegation fight.

Let's throw some of the kids in as well, change the keeper as well.

I can remember similar discussions about Harper/Shorey/Oster/USA in the past and I am very very bored with them.

Hunty missed a sitter get over it !

Next week when Bikey glares nastily at a Newcastle (now if you want a boring subject heres one) striker and gets sent off you will all be saying he's rubbish and a liability.

My worry with Convey is that he has never been good for Reading in the Premiership.

Agree. Hunt simply can't cross the ball.

Andy Hughes crossing ability > Hunts crossing ability.

...and this is a player that many posters were pushing as a potential Player of the year and who supposedly embodies all that is good about Reading.
We turned down £6million ,increased his earnings to £25000 per week (yes, per WEEK)and gave him a contract for two and a half years.
Somebody's judgement at the club must surely be questioned.
