Do you think Adam can perform well enough to keep Hahnemann out of the team once he is fit?

Oh, and although he's a great instinctive shot-stopper, I think there's a question mark about his positioning. Being beaten at you near post by a player shooting from the edge of the box is indefensible.

I like Fed a lot, and I think he has covered for Hannehman's absence more capably than most expected he would. I also expect him to keep improving.

But I wondered whether USA would have been beaten at the near post like that. And there were times today when I was praying for Fed to leave his line to claim the ball and he stayed rooted there.

Wasn't USA our player of the year last season? I think on balance I'd like to see him back.

That's the conundrum. Marcus is the better all-round keeper, but his distribution has worsened over the years. Fed's a more instinctive shotsaver and catalyst for quick counter attacking football.

Neither control, let alone, dominate the box. And that's something that should be coachable. The buck rests with the goalkeeping coach.

Didn't see any quick counter attacking football today. His distribution appeared to be just the big hoof

I'd agree, it wasn't at the levels of a few weeks ago. He looks a little short of confidence, two of the last three goals conceded will be on his mind.

More worrying, is the whole team's lack of spark, the runs have dried up, they're not as hungry for the ball, and when they do receive it, it doesn't stick. The default tactic then, seems to be hoof it long, and hope the openings come from opposition mistakes. That's not the way to get out of the division.

Worth pointing out the fantastic save in the dying minutes yesterday.
Gotta wonder if Hahnemann would have got to that... :|

In the interest of fairness, it's also worth pointing out the misjudged attmept at reaching the cross seconds before, when only Shane Long's goalline clearance came to the rescue...

Fair point, although it looked like he was being blocked.
