Aly Murty To all those that are calling for Karacan to come back in, I think he's gone away with Turkey for a tournament or something. May be wrong though.

He would still be better than Marek

brendywendy its weird

coppells highlighted their tendency to lump it when the pressures on, and that he prefers us to keep patiently passing the ball
so its obvious its not a tactical thing coming from the management

we need derren brown!!brimng him in, let him make a tv programme about how he got us promoted

Sorry but I don't believe him.
Pardew used to say the same thing but the Reading way of playing under both managers is for the back players to hit the ball as far as they can and the strikers are left to pick up the pieces.
Under McGhee the defenders weren't allowed to do that and even Stevie Rich eventually learned how to play the ball from the back.
What I would like to see is a central midfielder picking the ball off the back 4 to set a move in motion and not the hoofball which any decent defenders can deal with as we saw last season and latterly in particular in this.

The problem is really quite simple to understand. We do not play as a team. We are no longer a cohesive unit. There are too many individuals not prepared to work for each other. It would seem that the hunger and desire have simply evaporated.

The solution is considerably harder to quantify. the options are fairly straightforward. Either change the playing staff or change the coaching staff. The current situation where the playing staff are being changed does not appear to make one jot of difference. That would suggest that there are a considerable number of players who would prefer to be elsewhere. Thus, I would not be at all surprised to see a wholesale cull at the end of the season IRRESPECTIVE IF WE GAIN PROMOTION OR NOT.

The second option would be to change the management. This should not happen until the end of the season. Whoever comes in must be given the tools to do the job and that will involve bringing in a new coaching team. The current incumbents can not be expected to continue as if nothing has changed. TOO MUCH HAS. This new management team will take a good look at what we have and will very quickly identify those that need to move on.

So whatever happens, there should be a considerable exodus from the Mad Stad.

One other thing to consider is that in the past, we not only had two wingers (usually) playing well, we also had two full-backs who put plenty of decent crosses into the box too. If the wingers couldn't get behind their man, they could lay it back to shorey or murty to cross in instead. Armstrong and Rosenior just don't give us that extra attacking option.

Still the very best and composed defender I've seen in a Reading shirt. Fantastic player.

Ian Royal Take a chance or two

We have to create the chances first and that is not happening at the moment.

What the oxf*rd is happening, its almost as if they dont want to go up this year. Think about it.... we dont go up, the new premiershipship clubs and others snatch our best players (if there are any at the mo!) and Mr M makes a huge killing ££££££ without him having to scare himself silly by spending 2.5m :o on another shite signing.

Typical, after building the hopes of us all and giving us a taste of the big time it looks as though we may have to make do with being a mid table championship team again for a while. I've decided not going to use my season ticket till they sort themselves out, (which I did say after the Charlton Game) at least I will be more popular with the missus.

Sorry to be doom & gloom guys but this really is getting silly now!

Agreed. Stretch has rightly earnt praise for his defensive solidity, but he doesn't bring the attacking threat that Shorey had. And Rosey's form has dipped alarmingly in recent weeks.

All the drop him, start him and Coppell out posts. After every game someone has a revelation about who should be playing where and what is going wrong etc. Fact is NOBODY knows what are best team is anymore, bar maybe the left back position. Maybe if these pLOListics started creating and atmosphere and actually backed which ever bastad has started the game then maybe we'd see our home form improve

Why do people create needless threads?

The fact we are shit is because we only have plan a. If that doesn't work we get all flustered and hoof the ball.

Exactly, whatever combination of players we could have used, we'd not have won the last 4 home games. After every game someone thinks Coppell got it wrong and they know why, its getting boring now. We are performing shit as a club not just the players. Atmosphere does make a difference and the only people who say otherwise are people who can't be arsed to make a noise anyway. Can you honestly say the Bristol fans didn't help their team? I'm not saying they changed the result but it clearly makes a difference.

If it didn't change the result then what difference did it make?

And I completely disagree that there is not a single combination of players and tactics at this club that can combine to beat Forest, Charlton and Ipswich at home.

Is Snowball dead?

Haven't seen much of him since we lost another home match that he expected us to win by a good margin.

I didnt say tactics, i said players. There is obviously no confidence in the team, whatever 11 players play. Booing players and cheering when they are subbed is a great way of helping
