I think to go:

Lita
Mooney
Kitson
Dubberry
Murty
Golbourne
Sodje
Bennett
S Hunt
Little
Robson Kanu (I've heard from my swindon supporting friends he is utter shite)

We should do all we can to keep hold of Hahneman as I think we will struggle to get a decent replacement (and I don't for a second believe Feds to be the answer, the moment Ivar went, he started leaking goals left right and center). I would like us to keep Bikey (his ability far outweighs his temprament), Doyle (but he'll cerainly go) and Harper (why would you want him to go? Our passing and movement has been shocking without him. He's not a hard tackler, but half of this board just don't seem to get football at all, so slate him for not tackling or scoring enough. Ridiculous.)

Kebe and Cisse have both improved a lot this season, and I think Kebe on the left has been a huge improvement to hunt, and he's been much better than he was on the right. Just needs to work on his crossing and a bit more vision for a pass when he cuts in. Gunnarsson we should keep as he's an all rounder, and still a useful squad player. Mareks vision is amazing, the balls he plays are superb, but unless we find a striker who reads them, and gets on the end of them, which none of the present lot do, he's wasted at Reading. Put him in a decent prem side, and he would be invaluable.

Royalee Get rid of:

Hahnemann
Murty
Rosenior
Golbourne
Duberry
Sodje
Bennett
Gunnarsson
Harper
S Hunt
Little
Kebe
Kitson
Lita

Probably won't manage to ditch them all, but it'd be nice. I'd keep the rest and build around our younger players.

I would keep Liam, but agree with the rest and would add cisse.

Why does everyone think Murty should go?

When Arsenal loaned Harper to us he was a real talent, Cardiff and others wanted him. He gave us one or two good seasons, we need Midfielders who score goals not water carriers like Harper. Step up Marek.

Elliott
RG30 We'll have to balance out the books, and he's our best asset.

Balance out the books!?! I would love to know just how much profit the club has made in the last 3 years.

Me as well. In Coppells last two interviews he said along the lines of 'the clubs made alot of money both from transfers and from the league (tv)'. Our annual report and accounts are noticable by their absence.

Because he is old, slow and injury prone? Just a guess

"Oh its a shame we have to play Burnley, because I really like them" Nice one Blakey, Dont be surprised if he is on the phone to Owen Coyle letting them know that he (used to be) is a great winger and he has played in the prem.

We need to be realistic. A few players will go, but you can't get rid of half the squad. How would we replace them? (If you say, "with young, inexperienced players", then expect a season or two of not challenging for promotion.) If I was a new manager worth my salt, I'd fancy myself to get some of our misfiring players succeeding again (don't ask me how, I'm not a new manager worth my salt). We can't assume that just because a player has been rubbish recently that he will always be like that. I would let go any players that don't want to play for us, and I'd give the rest another chance, though I'd be bringing in my own players too. A steady rebuild is better than throwing out all the babies with the bathwater, to mix my metaphors.

It's certainly a phenomenon in all walks of life. At one time, you've got it, and then you lose it, and it's gone forever. All walks of life: George Best, for example. Had it, lost it. Or David Bowie, or Lou Reed. Yeah, some of his solo stuff's not bad. It's not bad but it's not great either. And in your heart you kind of know that although it sounds all right, it's actually just shite ... We all get old and then we can't hack it anymore.

Beautifully fucking illustrated, in the case of RFC, by Bryn and Murts.

Sadly.

At some point, we have to stop being so oxf*rd sentimental about the squad of '05-'06.

Every so often it all comes together and its magic. Absolute fucking fried liquid gold magic.

But you try and repeat that and what do you get? The three horsemen of the play off semifinal, limbering up as if it were Murts' testimonial and they were having a little jog out.

Bryn ain't 25 no more. He's approaching 35 and he'll be even more of a substitute, bit-part player next season. Find that young firebrand out there with a burning desire in his eyes and those steely Boris Becker good looks. Kitson,as well, showed me wrong. I wanted him to succeed but he's another - its gone. That magic I wanted him to show just wasn't in those gangly, pale legs anymore. Same as Little. Same as SHunt, to some extent. What had been an exciting, busy player was just a snarling mess who ran faster to complain that he did chasing down loose balls.

We need to move on. Not wholesale changes in one rushed summer but let some of the older players out, rely more on the youngsters who gave decent showings this season (mainly Karacan, Long, Pearce; but Kelly and Henry are pushing through, Church won't let us down) start replacing those names on the squad that add no value - Bennett, Sodje, Lita. Let some of the old warhorses - Doobs, Hahnemann, Bryn, Little, Murty - out to the paddock. Maybe there's a second chance for Hunt or Harper, but don't rely on them in 2010 because of what they did in 2005.

Dont understand everyone calling for Murty to leave... he only played a cup game for us all season! and he is a leader, which is what we have sorely missed this season.
Theres not a huge amount of players we should get rid of... it mainly depends on who else we can get in.

Let go:
S hunt
Doobs
Sodje
Goldbourne
Gunnarson

Who will leave:
Doyle
Kebe
Harper
Long
Federici

RFC shopping list:
a free kick specialist! (bring back Caskey  )
Left winger
Tall striker who will win headers
Central Defender

Definately keep:
Armstrong
Bikey
Ivar
Marek
Lita
Pearce
Cisse
Karacan

Out of the loan players we have... we should buy
Little
Harding

just thought.... one other that should go.... MVP!

I'm not saying whether they should go or not, but this is the list of people I reckon will leave this summer:

6 Brynjar Gunnarsson Midfielder
7 Marek Matejovsky Midfielder
8 Leroy Lita Striker
9 Kevin Doyle Striker
10 Stephen Hunt Midfielder
18 Sam Sodje Defender
25 Alan Bennett Defender
29 Michael Duberry Defender
33 Scott Golbourne Defender
38 Scott Davies Midfielder

Brynjar and Duberry won't be able to compete in the championship for much longer, Marek will probably go to a 'better' team (one of the clubs in the top league or competing in Europe) as will Doyle and possibly SHunt, and the others will leave for first team football at another club.

Hahnemann will oxf*rd off to America.
Matejovsky will be bought by a Premier League team.
Harper will trot off to Middlesbrough.
Stephen Hunt will oxf*rd off back to nowhere.
Kevin Doyle may be sold to a Premier League team.
Lita may be off to some Championship club.

Not a massive lost. We still have:
Federici in goal.
Tabb, Cisse, Gunarsson, Karacan, Sigurdsson, etc. in midfield.
We still have Henry, Robson-Kanu and Kebe ( ), etc. as wingers.
We still have N Hunt, Long, Mooney, Church, Baggie, Bignall, etc. as strikers.
Not the end of the world.
I'd expect our new management team to bring in a few players - a defender, 2 midfielders and a striker.

What's more important is who wants to be here. Since when do Club officials dictate transfer policy? It is all about players and agents. Thieving little bastards.

Build a new side around the likes of Pearce, Marek, Tabb, Karacan, Henry but we need investment and a new forward line!

Go

Murty - age - really don't see a way back
Gun - age - can't finish a game
Doobs - age - hoofball because he's not as mobile as he was
Ingi - age - will he repeat his form?
Han - hahahahahahahahaha!
SHunt - hahahahahahahahaha!
Harper - the uncreative crab
Golbourne - no need now we have harding.
Roseinor - unless we find an Armstrong of a right back or Kelly can step up to the plate?

Keep

Karacan, Pearce - both almost first teamers, esp in pearce case
Henry - right flank problems solved
Fed - goal problems solved
Harding - perfect replacement for armstrong when tired / injured / suspended or cup games.
Mat - he will be our creative force next year
BK - exciting partnership with pearce next year.
NHunt / Lita / Long + Doyler - perfect settled attack once fully fit - make most of close season / pre season lads.
Tabb - great player with good attitude.
Kebe - squad cover player for new left wing
Kelly - see below
Roseinor - unless we find an Armstrong of a right back or Kelly can step up to the plate?
Mooney / Church - another season in reserves awaits.

New In

Left winger - surman?
Centre Half - cover / pressure for Pearce / BK spots
Centre Midfield - some one strong capable of stopping play / cutting out balls a la Sidwell.
GK - cover for fed.

Who ever comes in will inherit a great squad, and with a few pounds could turn the team around again, but i don't believe a great deal of work is needed.
