Yeah it's a real shame for Wigan really, always thought they were a decent club.

A lot of clubs in the Lancashire area all fighting for the similar positions and struggling to differentiate themselves. It's tough enough getting investment for a lot of the clubs in the lower half of the 92 without having several clubs sat on your doorstep.

Though relegated, Rochdale are actually a really well run club and about the only league club up that way last season without some sort of financial issue. Their relegation is because they simply don't have the money to compete (now fully fan owned I think) now that the 4th tier is becoming full of "billy big-b*****" clubs like Salford etc. and they're just not willing to spend beyond those means. Really hope they get back to the league quickly.

Maybe it's because there is no money, or maybe it's because the players are not motivated enough.

McIntyre and NGW are also used to failure, add to that keepers who haven't exactly been on the front foot, or are just starting out in their careers, and you can see exactly where some of the issues are coming from. And that's all before you take into account the zero fan confidence and clueless managerial appointments on top to help back it all up.

And English players have rarely travelled in any numbers.

So I'm not really sure what the English leagues lose from all the high paid foreigners oxf*rd off.

Some up there are a bit concerned as he is a rugby man at heart and they reckon he did it to protect the rugby teams access to the stadium. They are concerned there won't be much investment.

However I can't see that being true, as he has links in the community and a reputation to uphold.

Remember playing them in division 3 in the early 90s. Hopefully we can overtake them this season to avoid that scenario next season.
