Or could do brilliantly, sign with Watford and get sacked after 2 weeks, one or the other.

As much as I'd love QPR to go down they have plenty of quality to get out of it.

Like we did last season ?

Probably more like us in 21/22 when we still had Laurent, Morrison, Rinomhota and Swift as well as a manager who used Joao.

WestYorksRoyal Chansiri has told Wednesday fans to pay the £2m HMRC bill. £100 each from 20,000 fans is his suggestion. At least he communicates with them I guess.

When ourselves, Sheff Wednesday, Derby and Villa were all gambling for the PL at the same time, the 3 clubs that didn't go up have all hit liquidity or cash flow issues of some sorts. That's where I think it's wrong with Villa, they gambled and went up and now they have essentially gone from strength to strength after gaining an unfair advantage during seasons in the Championship.

I wonder who the next batch of clubs are going to be? QPR and West Brom perhaps? Someone will probably come out of the blue as well.

Trouble is, Villa have been rewarded for it which will incentivize other owners to think the gamble is worthwhile. It should have been impossible for them to earn promotion that way. We need a system more like Spain where you provide forecasts and if you can't evidence sustainability, you can't register players.

What makes it worse with Villa is that they're a massive club. The had absolutely no need to gamble with parachute payments and ticket revenue, but now it's a potential blueprint.

No mention of Joey Barton leaving Bristol Rovers?

According to my Rovers supporting colleague, he did a great job of re-structuring the club, but had lost the changing room in recent weeks, not helped by publically calling out players who had a bad game.

It was on the Sacking of Managers topic the other day when it was the first I had heard of it.

At least Dai hasn't done that yet, but probably sees it as a challenge. Cedric Baseya debut at Eastleigh?

I appreciate they aren't rivals as such at this time, but I am surprised that no-one has mentioned the late and unlamented demise of the saviour of the fake hoops, Gareth Ainsworth, a man who many on here were demanding we employ, but who only saw them win 5 of the 28 games he had in charge of them.

This round of fixtures couldn’t have gone much better.

Burton - L
Cambridge - L
Vale - L
Exeter - D
Fleetwood - L
Carlisle - L
Reading - W

Cheltenham - L

Mind you, we've played all bottom 8 (excluding us of course) and got 7 from a possible 21. And it should really have been closer to 17.

Was surprised to see we're only 5 points behind Exeter. I thought they were near the top, but looks like they haven't won since we destroyed their kids.

Barnsley's next league game is a trip to Reading, hope Button can cope with that sort of rough house tactic.

I believe Exeter have a number of long term injuries, and as we know their second string players aren't the best

Wycombe lost at home to Morecambe in the FA Cup today. Perhaps we shouldn't be getting too carried away with last week.
