Surely he can still captain the u18, and it may explain why he was unused.
IIRC Kelly and Kuhl both played u21 and u18 last season, sometimes on successive days.
These are young , fit boys !

Liked the look of Fosu at Arsenal in the U21's few weeks back - strong, plenty of pace and very direct. Could certainly see him as an impact sub.

Just been looking at the U18s table, can anyone explain how Reading, who came third in their group weren't in the top group for the final stage?

*Seems the top group was reserved only for Premier League sides... that's extremely unfair when West Brom qualified and came near the bottom of our division.

After arguably the best RFC debut since Marek's cameo a few years ago from Fosu, and a 30 minute display from Stacey that was full of energy and trickery this should now bring a proper youth revolution in the summer. The difference that pace, energy, and exuberance brought to the team was clear for all to see. Pre-season will be the team for the best generation of academy talent this club has seen to properly make their mark.

Aarons, Jack, Jake, Tariqe, Craig, Dom - It's over to you now.

And so many others waiting in the wings. Despite so much doom and gloom residue from the first team's season, there is so much hope for the future.

Indeed. Posted this on the Tish thread this week but it seems more at home here. All over the place I've been reading / hearing that "The Reading Way" is dead. Sorry, I don't agree. The Reading Way has been to invest wisely in the future, not heavily in the present, and that is what we have done for many years now.

The fact that the cnut Russian went against that for a brief while and left us in shit street should not disguise the fact that the main investment policy for the last 10 years has been in the Academy, designed, as SJM said very clearly 15 years ago, to make us self sufficient.

The fruits of that are being seen now and will continue to be seen for the next decade or more with the excellence of our youngsters at all age groups producing amazing results.

Forget this current debacle of a team. If fans of the club look beyond the end of their noses they must surely see that the future is, thanks to the long-term vision of a decade + ago, very bright.

Let's just hope we have / get a management team capable of getting the best out of them.

I'm not sure Clarke is that person. Next season we should find out.

I fooking hope so.

Even if it results in losses, I'd rather watch a bunch of promising kids try hard and fall short, than a bunch of wasters fail again.
