bloody Volvo driver I am not going as the cost for me and my 2 sons with travel / bits and bobs would be £175. simples

Iqwas living

It' s absolutely crazy what you have to spend to go to watch a football match - I can remember when I first started going to the football around 83/84 I was living in London and I went with a friend to watch Arsenal and back then you could stand on the terraces buy a program for not much more than £5 how times have changed. Now ticket prices for home fans at Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham the prices can cost anything from S£30 to well over £100.

But TBF to West Ham it's not just them charging extortionate prices for away fans a few wee Arsenal a few weeks ago charged Manchester City fans £60 and Fulham have charged Z£50 for away fans.

genome The tube journey back to Padders last year went quite quickly tbf! :D

Knew the tube would be packed so we went to their pub just down the road as the Southampton game was the late kick off.

Was quite funny listening to a pub full of inbreds offering opinions on what had gone wrong interspersed with songs about Frank Lampard being a c***

Just had this back from West Ham - I wrote in asking them how they'd justify their prices (and had a go at them as well  )

We usually do not respond to insulting or slanderous emails

Wishing our club relegation, Administration and liquidation and total fabrications on our debts is not the best way to get a response but please find the following information below.

The last game of the season here at the Boleyn Ground has always been category A this is due to the players doing a lap of honour at the end of the game for the players to thank the supporters for the excellent support they have provided throughout the season and obviously to celebrate a very successful season back in the premier league. Unfortunately Reading has fallen into this category this season.

Usually it would be a category B fixture and if Reading had retained its premier league status it would be a B fixture next season as long as it didn’t fall on the last day.

I have to add when West Ham visited Reading this season we were charged £40 for the game, so with this in mind there is not much difference in fact if you was playing at the Boleyn Ground this Saturday as Newcastle are we would be charging £36 which is cheaper than your ticket pricing.

We have sold out our seats for the Reading fixture and have sold out the last 16 home games at the stadium. This would suggest that our pricing is competitive and we are on the whole one the cheapest London venues.

I hope this information helps and if you have any other mature questions please do not hesitate to ask, unfortunately we will not answer any further insulting or slanderous emails

Kind regards

Here you go - don't expect much, it was written whilst drunk!

Dear WHU,
I am a 19 year old Reading supporter and I am writing to complain at your absolutely horrific ticket prices for away fans. I found out today that prices for away fans for the upcoming West Ham vs Reading fixture will be £26 for under 16's and £49 for Adults.

I was incensed. How you can justify charging someone my age that amount of money is beyond me. I am a student and cannot afford to pay these sorts of prices. It's simply a massive rip off and it's a disgrace that you feel you can charge these prices for people of any age and not have a very guilty conscience.

I paid £20 for a ticket to Arsenal. There I experienced a far, far, superior stadium to Upton Park in every possible way - comfort, space, cleanliness, service, everything. I also saw Reading play a far higher standard of player than is present in the West Ham team. And yet to visit Upton Park, where, on my last visit, I was threatened outside the ground, showered with coins from the tier above, and stepped in a massive puddle of urine from the overflowing toilets, I am expected to pay £30 more.

Quite frankly you are a shambles of a club. I've travelled to over half of the away games this season but have been priced out of this one thanks to your horrendous pricing. My season ticket cost me £250. I'm not paying a fifth of that for one away game.

I hope you suffer relegation next season and then administration and liquidation if this is how you treat the lifeblood of the game. The way you have cheated your way into the top flight through excessive spending and racking up huge debts which will not be paid is shocking as well.

So we actually charge more for West Ham fans coming here than we would usually be charged going there, we were the unfortunate team to be drawn against them on their last home game.

Lol @ the outraged ones on here when they learn that. I will imagine they will be oddly quiet.

WHU were a higher category game when we played them at home, due to the fact our fans are more likely to go when we are winning games.

Can't be arsed to trawl through this whole thread to see if it's already been mentioned, but West Ham are being c*nts in this situation, in regards to 17-21 year olds.
Obviously clubs cannot charge away fans more than the standard home ticket price.

West Ham home ticket prices for Reading's game in a week or so:

Academy Member Prices start from:
£46 Adults, £23 Over-65s/Young Adults/Youth Academy

General Prices start from:
£49 Adults, £26 Over-65s and Junior Non-Members

As you can see they're charging fans in the 17-21 age range (that are members) only £23. But for the 'general prices' there is no 17-21 age range for tickets, so they are not forced to offer Reading fans this category either. This is pretty oxf*rd harsh to be honest and urz13 was quite right, as a 19 year old, in questioning why he is being asked for £49 for a ticket.

I'm assuming that Reading offered West Ham fans the 17-21 price range when they came to Madejski earlier in the season.
For the upcoming Man City home game (which is our "last home game of the season"), away ticket 'general sale' prices are as follows:

Adult = £42, 17-21 & 65+ = £31 and under 16 = 21. (For Man City platinum/gold members prices are rounded down to the nearest ten).

Clearly West Ham are trying to cheat the system and rip off 17-21 year olds in particular. As a 20 year old I will also be boycotting West Ham away this season.

West Ham, as well as other teams who do not offer a separate price to 17-21 year old away fans, are showing blatant disrespect to thousands of football fans particularly when they offer a 17-21 price to their own 'members'.

They also said "if you was playing at the Boleyn Ground" so I highly doubt that whoever sent the email on behalf of West Ham has a background in law.
