Thames To be honest this thread is complete proof of why Reading fans are viewed by a lot of others in the way they are. Family club of the year, bring a picnic, bang a drum, don't swear, don't stand, don't sing, don't launch fireworks etc.

Check list:

Family club - yep happy with that
Picnic - never done that unless a Mars bar counts
Bang a drum - never done that and don't bother me someone does
Don't swear - sadly I have done that but I am aware of my surroundings
Don't stand - yep have done that and see above
Don't sing - yep do that as do others
Fireworks - get a grip man!

I'm with paultheroyal on this, as I suspect will be about 95% of Reading supporters, and probably 95% of supporters across the UK and probably even Europe. I don't think Reading fans are seen as being much different from almost any other set of fans.

Well we're all different. I go and watch Red Star Belgrade a couple of times a year and Id much prefer that atmosphere

I think the club need to take a long hard look at themselves for condoning this sort of behaviour. Not too long ago, they were profiteering from merchandise with "tenacity, spirit, flair" daubed all over it like a tram over a £5 note.

Disgraceful double standards.
