genome Ince in?

Definitely needs to continue the turnaround beyond safety to avoid finishing with a whimper, but if he can pick up another 8 points in the last six say, then yeah. If he wants it, I'd give it to him.

Phew.
Might even enjoy Saturday's game now.

As Zip and I have been saying all season-Andy Yiadom, can't cross a ball but what a trier.

Great result, albeit a little premature relegation of Derby and P’Boro here.

Can’t remember who posted saying a relegation battle isn’t over until it’s mathematically over. That’s as true here as it’s always been.

Still enough games for all teams in the bottom 3 to catch us. The odds are with us but we’re not safe by a long way, from any of the bottom three.

Strange that we may want him to have it.

Biggest turnaround is the home form. Yes we've ridden our luck tonight but 9 points from 12 at home since Ince joined is a fantastic return and the key reason we look likely to stay up.

Barnsley at Millwall, who are decent at home. By Saturday teatime we could be 12 clear and only 1 point behind Hull who are at Boro. :D

After 65 minutes of Fulham at Man City I was definitely one of them

2 more wins will definitely do it IMO. We should get 6 points out of Cardiff, Swansea, Hull and WBA.

To be fair - I think a win v Cardiff and results going the right way would be enough

We can't be short termist about this - better finishing from stoke and less lucky deflections and we lose that game.

I would argue that whilst Ince is a better choice than our last three managers, we should still be able to do better.

And Swansea are flying, West Brom always difficult, so not sure how anyone can be confident around 6 points from those four…

Equally q better pull back from Azeez, Ejaria getting to a cross first... we still win.

End of the day, Stoke's only goal was a keeper error.

South Coast Royal For next season I would like to see us with an all-action midfielder like a Barry Bannan,Honeyman, Jack Colback type.
We have become a bit stuck in the 2 defensive midfielders plus another 2 or 3 whereas I would just prefer it if Rhino and/or Laurent actually did more as they have not done enough for whatever reasons and have generally too often treated games as a stroll.

Connor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson, Kante etc. do the lot in that they defend, break and assist as well as scoring the occasional goal and although at a different level I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to find another Sidwell-we tried with Stephen Quinn but he was injured too often however I am sure there are others out there.

As for Tetek, Camara and co. let's hope they develop but so far I haven't seen enough to be convinced that they will make it however both are still very young and next season could be the making of them especially with Swift, Halilovic, TDB, Hoilett and possibly Laurent and DD no longer around.

I always rated Danny Williams and what he added to the team. It was difficult to fit a formation around him that worked at the time, but I reckon he could have been a key player if they'd got him to work.

Just for the record Danny is now 33 and has been without a club since leaving Pafos at the end of May 2020.

Gotta be worth a sniff.

Really impressed with Hoilett tonight, great crossing, strength and good running, he looks way better on the right side of the pitch. Then on the opposite end of the scale was Ejaria's performance!! he's rapidly becoming a luxury we can ill afford and today was a totally liability!!!
I wonder if Tom Ince is any good on the left side of the pitch and if so these two could be the answer for the remaining 6 games.

Whatever happens, Ejaria has to be benched with one of Hoilett, Ince or Barker ahead of him and get rid and recoup so much needed cash and salary space for next season.

Swansea are flying but they are playing Derby next and Derby’s need for wins is much greater than ours.

It wasn’t pretty tonight. Yids my MoTM for his sheer desire and ability to scrap it out.
Drinkwater looks so much better. His awful freekick near the end was poor but otherwise he did really well especially covering for Ejaria in the first half.
Ejaria was woeful. He looks desperately short of confidence. Hoilett had another good game.

A vital win. Beat Cardiff and we will be almost there.
