Maguire
Woodcote Royal Doyle and Hunt have even allowed us to get away without having a target man in our ranks because, despite neither being the tallest, they aren't the worst in the air. None of this applies to Lita and whilst his die hard fan club might not see it, one can only hope that our manager will, eventually :|

Royal Rother Some of Lita's jumps against defenders a whole head+ bigger than him are amazing

Are you sure you agree with him RR?

FWIW I think you're right - Lita can get more air time than MJ.

For the record, I don't even want Marek on the bench. I want him replaced by Karacan, who was in our central midfield throughout one of our best spells of the season. When Marek came on we lost all shape and he nearly got sent off for the umpteenth time.

So Lita's got a good leap.......................how many goals does he score with his head?

How does this compare with the goals Hunt and Doyle score with their heads?

With every passing goalless week Lita hero worship grows more pathetic.

I'd welcome back the Lita of 2 years ago with open arms but despite an improved attitude and improved performances, ultimately, the end result remains the same..........................he scores once in a blue moon and his deluded fans make ever more desperate attempts to defend him.

It's this simple. Leroy is a striker. He gets paid to score goals.

Doyle and Hunt are also strikers.

I'm a Reading supporter who wants to see his club promoted this season and that will require goals from our strikers.

So far, Doyle has 15 this season, Hunt 10? and Lita 1.

I want to see Doyle and Hunt in our team because they score lots of goals whereas Leroy has failed in this respect for the last 2 years.

If 10 goal Hunt is not selected ahead of "One goal" Leroy for our next match I will not be pleased.

Hoop Blah
brendywendy not sure why kebe is being picked out for particular abuse-i thought he had a decent game, offering more offensively and defensively than hunt on this occasion, but certainly wasnt more poor or to blame than anyone else i saw out there.

Because it's been a while since he had an effective game perhaps?

I do think teams have sussed us and him out. I said before that without the guile and technique to go with his pace he won't have the longevity of a more technically gifted better winger and I think thats kind of what we're seeing now.

Hunt has got just as much stick as Kebe though so I don't think you can say Kebe is being picked on here.

thats why-as you say he was inneffective, while i thought he contributed very well.some in his own half, and did a fair bit in theirs, including 1 should have been goal, two+?decent low crosses, and a number of flick on headers and passes.

personally i think its hard to "suss" a player like kebe out, as hes so unpredictable
and personally i think he seems a little quieter since his defensive game has improved.

mainly im more inclined to blame the pitch and our CM.

basically i didnt see him as one of the worse performers on saturday, so question why we would drop-UNLESS its in order to facilitate a change of tactics/formation

Presumably, this wouldn't be the same dull and uninspiring that a few weeks ago you were imploring us all to judge at season's end?

No, as the thread suggests, this is in regard to this specific game.

It's not that hard to suss a player, especially one as one-dimensional as Kebe. Decent defenders should pick it up during a game but over half a season teams know what to expect from both Kebe and Reading as a team.

That means you restrict the space for him to run into and channel him outside so that he has less room to run into and less time to get in a cross. That and teams stiffling our fullbacks by flooding the midfield has meant less room for Kebe to use his space. His poor technique then means he contributes less (obviously the law of averages says he should get some balls into the box).

The pitch is certainly showing up the flaws in some players games, but I don't think Kebe or Hunts poor form can be blamed on Harper and Cisse though.

as far as ive seen, kebe rarely tries to just blast people into space with his pace, always checking back, stopping, turning around etc
probably a bit too much!

He used to though, when he had room to run into.

That was when he was at his most effective, either creating himself or causing a bit of panic in the oppositions defence for someone else to exploit.

It's why you see so many forwards and wingers have good 'freak' seasons, often when they burst onto the scene, only to never rediscover that form once defenders have sussed them out a bit.

It's those with real quality that show longevity of form.

it seemed to me that there was space to exploit, but he , too often, refused it and doubled back
and it was him running into space that resulted in a great save from their keeper

but i know i wont win a kebe argument on here,
