winchester_royal Bikey, LR and Harper had to go because we had spent a large amount of money in the last six months on Doyle, Hunt, Kitson and Little and as a result could not afford their wages anymore. If we hadn't wasted our money on that lot, and gone and signed a real quality player in January then we would IMO be in the Premiership right now.

But as I say that's just my opinion.

coppell took the -better the real quality player i know, and who knows the team and how we work- than the -potentially real quality player i dont know, and who may or may not slot into the team in time- approach

to be honest i can see why

No they had to go because we couldn't sustain their wages on a championship revenue irrespective of what we paid 4 players for a few months.

We'd have had significantly more money in the coffers had not wasted the amount of money we did, and therefore could have kept at least 2.

Mr Hindsight's working overtime here. Kitson and Little didn't work, but at the time were generally welcomed by most people here

So you would have got rid of Doyle and Hunt in January to sign a"quality" player? Really?

Who? why would they have come to a club that despite being very much invloved in the promotion were willing to sell their best (perceived or otherwise) players?

Mr Hindsite's gone into overdrive I would suggest.

Both Coppell and Hammond would have been pilloried if they had sold Doyle in January. I, for one, understand and support how the club handled both Doyle and Hunt. It didn't work but at Least we could see what the club was trying to do.

Now, I've no feckin' idea what's going on.

No, but I wouldn't have given them new contracts either.

And I've spent the money we spent on Kits and Little on someone else.

Genuine question here: How much did we spend on Little and Kitson?
Who would you have got to do the job(s) that they were brought into do?

Well they'd both have been on around 30k a week.

30x16 = around 500k

I'd have imagined we spent at least 500k on loan fees getting them here. Which would total to at least £1million.

As to who I'd have got.....good question.

A new winger. McAnuff would appear to have been a good bet.

25k tops

we never payed more than 25 in the prem
so i doubt very much that they were on more than that

though with my record im probably wrong

id have thought their prospective teams would have been happy just getting mst of their wages off the bill to be fair, since neither looked like playing

All I can DO HERE is echo my first post, nothing has changed, just to review...

This stupid stupid team is absolutely heading towards Division 1 at the moment and we can't even beat a sorry looking Doncaster.
- Lots of other teams can now be added to this list...

Does the board not know that in 2009 the object is to score goals, something of which we have been so piss poor of late we cannot.
- Indeed we score that few, all we can do is clap like seals when Ex-Reading players score. Notice how all our loans and ex-players (bar Harper are also good at scoring these days)...

Being a life long fan of the club that I am, I am devistated by the commitment or rather lack of that that the backroom staff provide?
- Again - what the oxf*rd do these people do?

Speaking of which, isn't it about time that idiot of a manager admits that he is no good at this level and needs to either pratice a little more on Football Manager 2009 or go back to Sunday school pub leagues.
- This manager (and chairman) have truely made us the laughing stock of the football league.

In years to come, there will be a phrase called "THEY'VE DONE A READING", this will be the symbol of what our club has done where it literally self imploded before our very own eyes and it will be used for other football clubs that had success and turned it into total failure. Hell, the management of RFC deserve an award for pissing in our faces like they have.

DO YOU SEE?

As they only spent a single season in the 1st division and went from the 4th to the 1st and back down in sucessive seasons I'd say that was impossible.
