Brom now 3 - 0 up and doing damage both to Leicester's GD and confidence I would guess! :D

RFCUK I actually reckon, we'll make the pionts barrier, but. Our goal difference isn't the best really is it.. So it'll be like our fall from the Prem, same points but a shite goal difference

After today Leicester GD is only +5, Swansea is +2 and we are -2, so it is not a huge gap.

Our GD is 0, so it's a fair bit closer than you think.

Swansea's GD of 3 is significant. If we make up the points I'd expect us to make that too. If we beat Newcastle, I can honestly see us winning the other 4. It would only take 1 defeat from an out of form Swansea side. It's ON!

EDIT: I've done more research. Just saw we need Blackpool to slip up too. It's definitely a long shot, to put it mildly. We must win our remaining 5 to have a hope, and it may not be enough.

Swansea:

Barnsley (H) - Expect them to win.
Sheff Utd (A) - Lose this one?
Doncatser (H) - Could contain a surprise. Still expecting a Swansea win though.

Blackpool:

Nottm Forest (H) - Forest out of auto race, poor away from home.
Peterboro (A) - Poor side, but can surprise teams on their day.
Bristol City (H) - Routine win against mediocre side.

The only positive from Blackpool is that they only need 1 draw and it's in our hands to move above them. 1 frustrating off day and we have a chance.

Either way, fail to win on Tuesday and it's over. It's pratically over already after failing to win yesterday.

Bristol City are actually doing very well under Millen. Could see them knicking a draw or possibly the win.

Unless Millen gets the job permanently he won't be in charge for that one as Lansdown said the new manager will be named after that match.....

We almost absolutely have to beat Newcastle, a big call but not beyond us if we play to our strengths
and Feds keeps out their almost-certain chances.

But after that? We are playing four sides 15th, 18th, 23rd and 24th on 2010's form

01 18 12 5 1 6 2 44 18 +26 41 2.28 Newcastle United

Interesting to me for one reason in particular: 70 points is the all-time low season's haul for a sixth-place finish in this division (er, going back to 1988/9) during a season when third thru sixth played off for promotion (and the answer to that trivia question is "Watford in 2007/8")

But interestingly the season we got 106 points 7th place only got 64 points, so the fact that Newcastle are getting such a large points haul could mean that this season may end with a low points total for 6th

^ Having gone thru all of the numbers season by season when prepping a post for the linked thread (but not having looked at them since), I do vaguely recollect that there seemed to be a clear correlation between, in a given season, mega-points runaway winners (and, to an extent, second place as well) and correspondingly lower than average hauls for those finishing in sixth, mm hmm

Beyond that, I'd leave it to anyone better versed than I in the science of statistics to snot "Well...yah!" and then to spell out the specific whys and wherefores
