LightwaterRoyal Oh Drenthe,
you're so fine,
you'll score a goal in extra time,
hey Drenthe,
hey Drenthe

Is that more to you're taste Ian, although that chant works much better for ALFIE.

Oh Royston what a player you don't understand
we love you even more when you post on instagram

Brilliant. I love him!

"sleeping mutha-fcukers"

Williams is also brilliant. Great to see so many personalities at the club, and most importantly no sign of Premier League hangover!!

I love this, just change luis suarez for Royston Drenthe.

Although I do usually sing that to Jobi on FIFA. I just cant get enough, Jobi McAnuff

Errr stealing my idea much?

yappy The chant I've been singing in my head while playing FIFA with him is the Luis Suarez chant. So..

Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Royston Drenthe!

this ^^
Mate, I was just expanding on your idea. Sorry if I upset you in any way.

Good morning Gents,
As an Evertonian I wondered what the reaction was to the signing of Royston Drenthe, reading this forum is very much like reading our own forums about Drenthe. Some fans would have you believe he is the greatest player on earth and would walk to the other side of the world to get him, some fans would give him a piggy back to the other side of the world to keep him away from the team.

There is no doubt there is one of heck of a footballer inside RR and if Adkins can do what Jose Mourhihio and David Moyes failed to do and get the best out of him, fair play to you as you'll have one hell of an attacking threat and there will be teams in the championship he will single handedly destroy and I can see him scoring haticks against for fun.

At Everton he was never going to be a Moyes player, Moyes loved a 'steady eddie' someone who gave him 7/10 every game would always get the nod over someone who might give him 10/10 for five minutes and win the game. There were stories of him being a complete idiot, disliked by his own team mates, enjoying a bit of the white stuff and trying to arrange a move to Liverpool on the eve of the FA Cup semi final against our biggest rivals but how much any of it is true your guess is as good as mine. He was a bull in a china shop on the field, getting himself pointlessly sent off in the League cup 1/4 final against Chelsea when they were already down to 10 men didn't impress many, and there were at least two occasions I can remember where he was lucky to stay on the field with rash challenges that could have easily seen red.

One thing for sure is though when he left us Madrid gave him a free transfer and no one seemed that keen on him to the point he ended up playing in the Russian 2nd Division which to me tells you a lot about what you need to know.

For the record, I hope he's a massive success and gets you back up. In a way I'm glad he doesn't play for Everton anymore, but at the same time we drew too many games last season and at times you looked at the bench and though, if only Royston was here now

Maybe the realisation of playing in the Russian 2nd tier is enough to give him a kick up the arse. I personally think with the group of players we have hear he will settle in well and they will all keep him in check.

can only assume he thought he had hit the big time at real, and then went off the rails.
I believe his time in the Russian wilderness has curbed this as he now realises he needs to knuckle down with a point to prove

There's lots of money in Russian football, so don't think that he would've gone there just as a last resort. I'm sure they were paying very well to get a player of his background to join them.

He's obivously got a bit of a screw loose, but he's very talented and, a bit like Taarabt for QPR a couple of years ago, he could be a massive player at this level if he's grown up a bit. Even if he hasn't, and he's still inconsistent and a pain in the arse for the management, his talent can win us a decent tally of points on it's own.
