Although most of what Schards said was going to happen a year ago, 12months or so on has happened.

Why does this keep being resurrected and then people moaning that Schards is saying "told you so"? He hasn't said that, has he?

I'd do the same for you Bendy, if I thought you were being unfairly labelled and weren't around to say anything yourself.

Sebastian So was Schards right?

No.

Schards#2 I think we need to get used to mid table championship football at the very best until there is a sea change at this club

Mid-table? We'll be bloody lucky.

So the football isn't a whole lot more duller and uninspiring than in recent years?

Agreed, based on performances so far.

Yep.

And some of us who went against the grain and stood by him are feeling a little smug. 8)

HH, you know my feelings on the football; it is as dull and uninspiring as a Last of the Summer Wine xmas special. My post was an attempt at wistful whimsy, stating that perhaps Schards wasn't quite right with his doomsday scenario.....that the reality, in fact, is proving a lot worse.

As with many contributions to this thread this might be seen as a little selective but it could be said that for the 1st 4 months after the original post we played well and looked likely to go up as Champions.

Now that there HAS been a sea change things seem to have got a lot worse. Does that make Schards right or wrong?

Don't worry though, it's gonna get better because I'm sure there are at least 6 worse teams than us in this League...

...Meanwhile, Windsor & Eton remain undefeated in their League.

Scott Davies, the only man who can, and does, shoot goes out on loan. Rodgers says we need to shoot more. Why, oh why, oh why?

Howard has reigned shots in since his arrival, although in a Ronaldo just whack it when you within 25 yards of goal kind of way. I don't think he's really troubled the opposition keepers much though. Sigurddson has had plenty of efforts at goal from open play as well as deadballs and I'm expecting McAnuff to add to the goal threat too.

Davies didn't score during his brief time on the pitch, and although he got in some very good positions and had a number of shots, he just wasn't quite up to the grade (yet?).

I'm not sure I'd rather Davies was out on loan, but your arguement ridiculous really.

Davies' long shots > Howard's
Davies' pace > Howard's
Davies' counter attacking threat > Howard's

Davies going out on loan = predictable but stupid. Howard is the one we should be dumping. Davies is more dangerous in the middle and more useful on the flanks. He's more likely to improve with a run in the team.

This thread became irrelevant when Schards ordered the roflcopter to come collect his goalposts and drop them off a couple of miles down the road
