Very good interview. He speaks well, so let's see what happens on the pitch. Big rebuilding job ahead, as well as the 'mystique' of Reading. We've been dealing with that for some time mate

WestYorksRoyal I'm disappointed in Fran Kirby not speaking up for her home town - she has the profile to get this higher up the news agenda and we have seen that Dai and Pang don't like to make the news. Also Earps who really developed with us. I don't expect them to become full on campaigners, but they could at least speak out. When Beth Mead spoke out on Thornaby it had a big impact.

The reality is if there is a 14 year old future Fran Kirby in Reading their chances of making it professionally have just fallen dramatically.

This is the shame. I'm not a fan of women's football and you can't make someone like what they just don't like but I think this epitomises how insidious our owner has been for the downfall of our club and its community.
If you have to run a women's team at a loss and it be subsidised by the club for it to hopefully be successful in the future; well we've just lost that.
I only post as the above statement rings true on a very local level. A girl a few doors down from me had just broken through into the women's 1st team after years in the academy and junior levels. Seeing her dedication out on the street for the past 7-9 years has been inspiring. I wish my boy showed the same attitude to drills and skill. It's amazing how you can hone your ability with just a ball and a street kerb. Thankfully she has secured a place at Birmingham but means having to leave her family home to move up to the midlands.

It also means goodbye to free kit hand me downs :x

what did you expect?

The name ‘Reading’ counts for nothing among the properly organised and established teams at this level.

The match report on TTE paints a bleak picture.

Players have had no pre season and had just 12 players against a side with multiple subs and had played 8 pre season games; due to injuries incurred during the game we played much of it with 10 players.

The players also have to make their own way to the ground

Its a very long road back.....we were beating Chelsea in the WSL a couple of years ago.
