Barry the bird boggler 17 Aug 02 Reading 1-2 Coventry City
04 Jan 03 Walsall 0-0 Reading (FAC3)
14 Jan 03 Reading 1-1 Walsall (FAC3R)
30 Sep 03 Norwich City 2-1 Reading
10 Apr 04 Bradford City 2-1 Reading
28 Aug 04 Millwall 1-0 Reading
13 Sep 08 Ipswich Town 2-0 Reading
26 Oct 09 Reading 0-1 Leicester City

Went to all of these games except the ones away to Ipswich & Norwich and they all deliver a big :| from me

I expect us to lose 3-1, conceding a dubious penalty en route and being turned down for one ourselves.

Not too far from the truth as it goes, except we got the dubious penalty and ending up winning

Row Z Royal The second was more clear-cut than the first!

Handbags called it right about being a complete fecal sack of a referee, but he got two key decisions right today (brushing the ones he got wrong under the carpet...).

I thought that too. At least both sides had cause to sing that he wasn't fit to referee.

strap You missed the battle of Bradford 0/04/04, when Dean Windass punched Ivar ... and Ivar was sent off!

Thanks Strap, I've amended my list now! I remember that game, didn't Windarse also try to eat Andy Hughes.
.

It was Ricky Newman ear.

I can't believe I'm complaining about a ref that gave us two pens, but he did seem intent on giving Palace and Vaughan in particular every free kick possible and only giving us free kicks when we wanted to play the advantage.

One or both of the pens should have been a red card - for the second Long was lining up a shot when he was taken from behind.

At least we managed to keep 11 men, I was convinced he wanted to send off Mills in the first half.

The second pen looked like a great tackle to me and no pen.
What really annoyed me about this ref was his complete inability to play the advantage and let the game flow. If a player is fouled and its a minor offence and either he or a colleague still have the ball play on for fecks safe.

I know Keith Hill from the past. A nice guy off the refereeing circuit, but have to say yesterday was not one of his better games, nor his assistants. Some strange calls, couple of key ball in and out of play's missed, and although grateful for the penalties, 1 out of 2 at a push were correct.

5.5/10

I have seen Keith Hill referee in many games and he has always been utter utter sh*t. He may well be a nice guy, but that aspect of a referee's personality doesn't mean a thing to me and, I'm sure, every other football fan out there. What matters is what level of sh*t the day's referee is, because they're generally not any higher than "bollocks". And Keith Hill is in the lowest category possible.

And I wouldn't have blamed him at all if he had. I really hope McDermott gave Mills a bollocking for his behaviour. When you have already rightly been booked for a foul a) you need to watch your future challenges and b) you very definitely should not keep arguing/mouthing off at the ref regarding subsequent decisions.

Great competitor and RFC player maybe, but I question whether he currently has the right attitude/maturity to be captain. Compare and contrast his conduct with the likes of Murty, Harper and Ivar. All kept their mouths shut and did their best to befriend rather than antagonise the officials. - I do however, remember one ref who didn't take at all kindly to Harper's repeated cuddling!
