The players friends and familly tend to sit in the West, so that's often where they head to celebrate... either that or they know that's where the tv cameras are and it ensures they get on tv.

This, really.

They only do it to get laid by their misses that evening. The single players come running over to the east stand to celebrate.

Doyle used to celebrate ALL his goals in front of the East, even when he scored in the North (North East corner I suppose). For me very rarely is a goal celebrated in front of West.

bigmike He celebrated infront of the east stand because all the players know thats were the majority of noise comes from certainly was on saturday.(The noise from the east stand spured the team on)

This is also proven by the fact that when Hunty was trying to get the fans up when he came on he motioned to the East stand to make noise knowing that theres no point asking the West stand as they are all asleep and the fact that the North stand if full of pre-pubesent school kids whose highlight of the game is doing a countdown from 10 to 0 with the clock at the end of the game.

Oi, I sit in the North and there is noise made there. I was in the East on Saturday and yes it is noisier (the closer to the South you get the noisier it will be, that's the same in any stadium really), but don't be having a go at the North. I have NEVER heard a countdown from the North at a game that isn't 'Kid for a quid'.

That's all.

Surely it depends where you are when the goal is scored. When Mills scored on Saturday he was on the 'West' post of the goal so automatically carried running in that direction. When Church scored he was closer to the East than the West

Saying ALL his goals were celebrated in front of the East stand is just wrong. His goal against Southampton back in 05/06 was celebrated in front of the West, his goal against Hull in that season in front of the North, his goal against Ipswich was celebrated in front of the West I seem to remember. To name but three, I reckon there were more, but I'd have to watch the highlights.

Whereas it's quite clear that the east are pompous and think far too highly of themselves.

Matt de K (Don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere else yet - I did have a quick look) So, I can't ever remember a proper celebration in front of the East Stand EVER. Always remember scorers running every time to the West.

Where on earth have you been? I can recount numerous occasions a Reading player and away players have celebrated in front of the East Stand (Y25/26).

Kitson often raised one arm and ran to the East Stand. Most memorable of all was Murty jumping Kingsley and the team sandwiching them both after Murty scored 'that' penalty against QPR. For opposition Nolan enjoyed winding the East Stand up with his celebration for Bolton as we began throwing our Premiership future away.

Big Foot THE best celebration ever at Madejski IMO was in front of the East Stand

And surly drunkards who are just too cool for it all.

I'm so glad that there wasn't a mass scale surge and pitch invasion and all the Neanderthals in the east didn't rip out their seat and start celebrating waving a blue plastic tray about

Like it Matt. Funny lad.

Maybe Matt's only ever been to one game. Plenty of players have celebrated in front of the east stand. Pretty sure Doyle threw himself into the fans after a goal.

Simon ran to the East Stand after scoring because thats where his momentum took him. He was heading in an easterly direction, coming in from the West when he scored. I think that is generally what determines where a player celebrates his goal. There are exceptions, mostly away team scorers that have received 'The Bird' during the game, making their point.

Probably a factor that may affect things is where the subs are, where the bench is and where the provider of the goal is.

I think you'll find he was actually running towards the weststand when he scored.
