I think you'll find the Cardiff game is on the Tuesday

At least that's what the fixture list on here says

I remember the Supporters Club coaches turning up late at Barnsley in the early 1980s. We were 2-0 up when we got there.

We lost 5-2 :|

I was in Tunisia when the African Cup of Nations was on. I bought a ticket for Tunisia v Cameroon. I had great difficulty getting to the stadium - including flagging down what I thought was a taxi only to find out (once I had been offered a lift) that it was a learner driver under instruction. (I couldn't read the illuminated sign on the roof of the car, so I assumed it was a taxi, not the Tunis School of Motoring). After walking the last mile to the stadium I found a policeman and asked for directions to my gate. He looked at my ticket and politely pointed out that I was 24 hours TOO EARLY. So I did get to see all of the match in the end - I just had to wait another day!

Away at Villa Park 2006.
Parked in a sink estate down the road and walked in the rain.
Got there 10/20 minutes late so missed our goal but just in time to see Sonko get sent off then go down 2-1.

Evening was rounded off nicely as we walked back to the car to the sound of chavvy brummie kids giving it the large one.

Joy.

Championship winning season of 106, found myself stuck in lovely Luton traffic. Decided to park it in what seemed like a nearby deserted car park. Ran to the stadium, running through narrow alleys with washing lines to duck under.

Missed Doyle's opening goal which seemed to be the highlight of game which went downhill from there resulting in a rare loss!

I've missed numerous games through being c*nted but never got the date wrong.

Did drive all the way to Luton on a Boxing Day one year though (possibly 1996 or 1997) only to find it had been called off due to poor weather.

Kitson12 Not because he forgot or anything but, it seems we like to score when my brother goes to the bog. During our 106 season he went to the loo at 5 consecutive (home) games, and we scored during the period he was in the bog. This trend reared it's head again during Saturdays match, he missed Karacan's goal.

id suggest giving him some laxatives

That's about all I've managed, drove to Barnet in a car with no radio only to find out on arrival it was off due to an unplayable pitch.

Did the same for a New Year's Day game at Cardiff in about 1990. Only game in the country to be called off. I still think the ref had a hangover. I never did get to see a game at Ninian Park.

My Old Man often goes on about that Cardiff game. They ended up getting c*nted in the players bar at Ninian Park apparently.

Did the same at Sheffield United. That was a waste of a journey. We won the "replayed" fixture 3-1. I couldn't make it :x

Ninian Park. The home of the cold corned beef pasty

My worst journey back from a game was after we rew 2-2 at watford in the League Cup in the early 90s. It was pi55ing down all game and allt he way back on the M25 and M4. No shock then as I got near J8/9 that I ran over something in the road. between 8/9 and 11 I watched the petrol gauge rapidly decline. Net result was a £200 bill for a repair to a punctured fuel tank

Missed a home league game v Wigan late 80s / early 90s which was suddenly re-arranged because both clubs were out of the Cup and as I lived way out of town I didn't find out about it til I saw the result in the paper.

Got to Ashton Gate about 10 minutes late I think a few seasons back, can't be sure of the year, but iirc we wore our yellow away kit, were 1-0 down while I was still in the car, and 2-0 down before I took my seat. Lost 4-0 iirc, much to the bemusement of the missus for whom it was her first away trip. We left 5 minutes early and went shopping. :|
