facaldaqui I'm none too sentimental about Bikey. If he'd kept his head and shirt, we might have made the final.

I disagree. The referee was wrong about awarding the penalty as the tug was outside of the box.

IMO he continued the hold inside the box. Pen.

Looked at naother way, if his head wasn't as big, he'd have been able to get his shirt off much more easily.

Do you reckon he was supposed to rip our shirt off to reveal a Burnley shirt but forgot to put the claret on first?

Ian Royal Bikey, a great player who could have played for one of the best if only he had a brain. When he was good he was amazing and such brilliant entertainment. When he went mental he was truely atrocious and it happened way too often.

Glad we had him, glad he's gone. Shame we bought the cut price version in Mills to replace him - who doesn't have the entertainment value.

Oh I don't know, opposing fans seem to get quite excited about him!

I dunno, him carefully making sure he swore at every single side of the stadium was pretty hilarious plus the added bonus of bringing his girlfriend along to plenty of games. He just needs to turn on a medic and he could be up there

floyd__streete
floyd__streete My favourite Berkshire-based mentalist with the possible exception of Peter Sutcliffe, Stephane Andre Bikey's career at Reading almost ended before it even started after he headbutted a swede - that famously truculent race of people - in a pre-season friendly. Signed from Lokomotiv Moscow where he was taunted for looking like a member of Aswad, Bikey has played sparingly for us between suspensions and injuries.

You always gave the impression that playing in our modest team bored you; dribbling your way past onrushing strikers as if it were Pro Evolution Soccer on amateur mode. In fact when you backheeled your way out of trouble on the touchline at Doncaster last season perfectly into the path of a teamate I actually slightly soiled myself in excitement. Your best moment has to be two towering headed goals against Birmingham in a relegation six-pointer, but thank you for providing possibly the only enjoyable moment in this dismal calendar year of following RFC with your shirt-ripping histrionics upon dismissal at Turf Moor. Pure theatre.

Cheers Andre. You were the last of the truly great players we signed during the glory years. These days we shop at Lidl and Mothercare.

Truly quality post Floyd. Bikey was class, my favourite player in years in terms of the all round package. Would sign him again in a heartbeat if it was possible.

Quality player and cracking entertainment. Will always remember him seeing him the evening before we played Chelsea at the start of last season with a Burger King. It's a shame how his Reading career ended, but I suppose that was the most fitting way of his time here to end.

One of the most entertaining defenders we've ever had at Reading. Yes, made a few howlers while he was here, but so did Sonko, and I don't think anyone could argue with what either of them did for the club!

Have to say that even though Bikey was a bit of a hot head - he had passion and was 100% committed when he was playing for us. At least he was "exciting" and never knew was was going to happen next, which was more than you could say for a lot of our players at that time!

Whilst watching that Bikey Youtube clip, saw this one and had to laugh..............

Despite being a decent defender during his time here, he ruined his reputation by disrespecting the shirt.

So do you feel the same about Shane Long or has that now passed.

I thought that was pretty fitting with the reputation he had.

Do you remember how shit Reading were playing at the time?

The only way we were every going to get to the final is if Burnley had scored a couple of goals for us.
