Yeah, apart from when they made the mistake of passing to the retarded Irishman who apparently didn't realise why all the other players were keeping hold of the ball and decided to smash it into the South Stand for no reason.

Absolute helmet.

Much improved, albeit against a similarly average side as us.

A few positives to come out as well. Cummings looks so much more assured and capable whilst Griffin did a fine job on the left and linked up and supported McAnuff so much better than Harte ever has.

The front two looked like a partnership again and Long had an excellent game. One thing he's looked to do more off recently (which he hardly ever used to do) is to get the ball under control and use his body to protect it. In the second half he did it a number of times, including chesting it down where previously I think he would've just flicked it on with his head.

Leigertwood was excellent again, although he might've got a bit lucky with the little stamp aimed at Harris early in the second half. The last thing we need is him picking up another needless suspension.

McCarthy looked ok. A bit nervy and his kicking wasn't the best but I think that could improve with a bit more composure and confidence. He will also need to learn to come off his line a bit more as well, but a promising full debut nonetheless.

There are still areas to improve upon though. Ingimarsson still looks like he's slowing down and is a bit of a weak link. We got pulled apart at times and without Griffin's goal saving tackle we'd probably have found ourselves unjustly behind. The most obvious thing we need to address is our lack of guile and creativity though. We're still a lump it to the frontmen and hope side that don't really create enough. If we want to push on (this or next season) that needs to be something we look at.

Most amazing thing about the game seems to be that Snowball has accepted that we might be a better team without Harte at left back!!!

pea Shaun Cummings returns to the line-up, Reading win in the league for the first time in over a month

Ian Harte gets replaced and (as Brian said on Radio Berks)we play at a quicker tempo-well what a surprise!!
It's taken the manager nearly 6 months to realise this.
As an ex-winger you would have thought he would know a thing or two about full-backs but with Williams and Harte as two mistakes he clearly doesn't and has a blind spot.
Still,in his time in charge and the limited resources available to him he has got most things right.
I wonder BTW what Armstrong has done wrong-it looks as though he has no future with us when the manager selects Harte or a right-sided player ahead of him.

As for last night I thought the attitude was spot on and everybody played quite well and a good game for the keeper to get bedded in.

I'd imagine that the only thing Armstrong has done wrong is be crocked.

He's played a few game here and there but although he did ok, we don't know how his knee's held up for the next week or so after and personally I thought he was off the pace when played as an emergency midfielder.

I really can't see a new contract being on the cards for him unfortunately.

honestly what has football come to

Thought we were much improved & Long was incredible last night. He is a different player this season - hold up play, work rate, 1st touch, even getting quality crosses into the box. Completely different player to when under Coppell - perhaps because he knows he is now 1st choice & not in Doyle's shadow.

Without him & Legs we would be pretty poor.

Negatives - thought Ingi & Tabb had a shocker last night. Tabb just seemed completely anonymous - wouldn't be overly bothered if we said goodbye in the summer. Too lightweight - gets muscled off the ball far too easily.

Love Legs - think I will be getting him on my shirt if we sign him in the summer.

oh and well done to Reading on the

"your so hard its unbelievable"

Tabb anonymous? Thought he put in a great shift also had takle of the game for sure with a lovely slide challenge and Ive never been a massive fan of his

as for Ingi I missed the goal but I thought he was solid, Millwall threatened in the air but you can really substitute for height and power, Mills struggled to for that 20 minute period in the first half

I'm in the minority then with Tabb - think Jem & Howard are much better options. I don't fault his effort he clearly gives 100% but just don't think he is good enough. Shame to see Ingi so off the pace - he made countless mistakes 1st half I thought. Would like to see a back 4 of Cummings, Griff, Pearce & Khish TBH.

Focher
Snowball New Keep did OK. Didn't look to have much chance with the goal (yet again we start the second-half badly). His kicks were a bit flat, but only one was dodgy.

^this. What a completely useless and idiotic comment.

So was it a good game or an average game?

Most people I've spoken to said it was a bit boring.

Retarded Irishman? WTF? Give him a break, we won, we played alright. Just be happy for once. Always the pessimist.
