MattRFC I maybe a young and possibly petulant football fan but surely I wasn't the only person who wanted someone to clean out Leroy shitty lita after that pen?! The man really is an absolute jockey

Disagree.

Lita played a key part in our Premiership years. Last year when he scored he didn't celebrate. He was merely frustrated that his former club was a lot better than the club he is currently playing for.

What are you on about? He ran full sprint and celebrated in front of the Boro fans. After he had celebrated he did salute the Reading fans, as he did today after his first goal.

MiddLOLesbROFLough. Not seen a team give away possession - and goals - as cheaply as that since.....erm, us last weekend. A team of good individuals who play like they've only just been introduced to each other for the first time in the dressing room before the game.

Reading were deserved winners today but I wouldn't wax as lyrical as the opening poster did. For a game with 7 goals it was actually a rather tepid affair I felt. Still, we scored a couple of very decent headed goals; decent HRK finish from a good Kebe cross for the first, Long stuck Harte's beautiful diagonal cross in beautifully for the fourth. Harte had a very good game although I wonder whether his 2nd goal might end up being og, seemed to flick someone's head on the way through and the way Boro defended it was probably one of theirs. Another very pleasing result against a side who have spent heavily and flopped, the aforementioned Harte and HRK (who had his best game for us imo) being the pick of the bunch.

Not sure Hunt merits a 10 either, not that he played badly.

Hunt had a brilliant game, IMO, some of his deep work was sublime
and he played some excellent passes

PLUS, AS I MENTIONED AT HALF TIME, MILLS IS DOING VERY WELL, DESPITE MY BERATING OF HIM

I've fixed it for you.

Got the goal but I thought KRK only looked good today as he was able to muscle past a very weak winger.

His ball control is still terrible and he ain't that quick. He is so one-footed that he always shows the oppo which way he is turning.

still, far and away his best game for us, which isn't saying much

MoM probably Legs again for me

Boro were very poor and probably the worst team to visit the Mad Stad this season, the five goals should have seven or eight.

At 5-2 up and with 20 minutes still to go I would have seen Manset bought on as a 5 minute run out was not long enough for me

Great team performance.

Were 'Boro playing a weakened side? They seemed very young and all numbers in the 20s and 30s apart from their 9 and 10.

Looked more like a dive than a penalty fom where I was sitting. What did it look like from the North stand?

If we carry that on for the rest of the season, play-offs aren't out of the equation just yet

Boro were comprehensively outplayed.
It could easily have been 9.
Leighterwood did not stand out today, but that was because everybody else was on their game, not him having a bad one.
HRK had his most productive game in a Reading shirt.
Harte and Mills were imperious, and the calm assurance of Zurab, when he's on the ball, is reminiscent of a Wdowczyk.
It was also great to see Brynjar rolling back the years with an assured performance, but also seeing him steaming through the middle in support of an attack in the second half warmed the old cockles...
I feel for Church. The goals must look the size of matchboxes to him at the moment. I think that Brian persevering with him could end up in doing more harm than good for his career. He should go out on loan at somewhere like Brentford to build his confidence back up.

Absolutely could not agree more.

A very enjoyable afternoon. And to be honest, we wouldn't be complaining about Lita winning a penalty if Mills hadn't shanked his clearance in the first place. Mills was very good, other than that.

Presumably their keeper was injured, hence the sub keeper coming on after 40 mins. No mention of that in any online report. What happened, and did the sub keeper contribute to their undoing? Seems not from the reports to date.

SLAMMED I don't think anyone had a bad game. Gunarsson's ball down the wing for our first was perfect. Think Manset should have come on for Long. Church just isn't good enough.

Church gets too many chances. Williams deserves a chance from the bench. Church needs a season in L1 or just flog the dead horse.

Give the guy a bloody break he's a full international FFS!

It looked like a dive from the North Stand, because that's what it was. He should have been booked tbh.

Great all round performance today. Kish and Tabb my MOM. And I know that I'm going to be a minority of one here, such is the love for Leigertwood on this site, but he was pants today, Tabb carried him through the whole game.

Cue howls of derision for daring to criticise him...

Yep - for ome reason it never quite hit the heights the scoreline suggests - perfectly competent win and really should have had a few more - all except Long seem to be woeful when one-on-one with the keeper.

PS - Yes, Harte's second flicked the ankle of a Boro player and deflected.

Have to feel sorry for young Ripley (Stuart's boy, BTW) - a real baptism of fire.

Svlad Cjelli PS - Yes, Harte's second flicked the ankle of a Boro player and deflected.

But the free kick was on target so still counts as Harte's goal?

Correct - a deflection rather than an o.g.

Lita dived. No doubt about it. He's better at it than Long.

Yes Boro were fielding a weakened side. They have a lot of injuries.

BTW. Boyd won't be at Boro next season. You could see from his body language that he didn't want to be there.
His desperate pleading with Lita to let him take the penalty instead was quite pathetic. Lita only thinks about himself.

Was impressed with boro's 16 year old left back Bennett.
