Surely the biggest unaswered question for those of us who weren't there today but were there last season:

Was the steward who "lost" his orange beanie hat there again this year?

BMac's gung ho approach was epitomised last year at home to WBA in the league. We had led most of the game and suddenly conceded an equaliser in the last portion of the game. McD suddenly threw on all our strikers and we almost conceded immediately, it took a Sig foul almost on the edge of our own box to stop WBA scoring. It's that mentality which makes us so fun to watch now.

I didn't go, but am reading many comments saying it could be one of the best Reading performances - can anyone set it in context, say compared to the playoff final until Archie missed, or the home game against liverpool after Harper scored - how good was it?

WHAT-A-FANTASTIC-DAY!!!!

This game had just about everything. Fabulous.

First big moment, a seriously good save from McCarthy when it was 0-0. He will be a star for England but will probably leave in the summer.

Manset has OOODLES of ball-skill but isn't aware of his team-mates when he's ploughing through. He is going to be a top-top player but it will take at least one season, maybe two. And he's DIFFERENT.

Long ran his socks off again, very good game, but the saved pen was because he put it in the same place.

Karacan was immense, one totally superb tackle back and a very good goal.

We missed a lot of chances, and with luck could have had eight or so goals

Elwood was, yet again, superb. Fantasic free kick by Harte.

Jimmy so wanted that goal. The players all did very, very well. Forest had a real go and could win 4-0 against many teams playing like that

Don't think it was so much the performance as the whole occasion, a massive game, with a very vocal support going through so many emotions. It felt that the team, the management and the fans were all at one today. Everybody wanted that result for each other, great feeling.

I remember that, what a tool. Forest fans were c**ts last season too.

Just got back and like many others am still buzzing and I've lost my voice. That was the greatest game of football I have seen following Reading and it will live very long in the memory. When the fourth went in, everyone went completely mad and it was a hugging orgy in the away end. Whilst we have been putting together a very good run of form, today felt like the day when we really stated our intent by putting an end to another contender's chances of promotion on their own patch, and quite emphatically as well. We aren't here to take a playoff place lads, we really are aiming for second! And who's to argue that it's beyond our reach. As someone else said, it was brilliant to see the togetherness in the team. Many other teams with a weaker mental attitude would have settled for a draw today after the 88th minute equaliser. But instead Karacan sprinted forward to create a run for the free kick which then won us the game. We just don't don't give up, from the 1st minute to the last and it makes us so entertaining to watch.

Anyway, time to go out and celebrate! Have a good weekend everyone!

And this is why Ian Harte should be the penalty taker IMO - exactly the same happened at the KC Stadium back at Xmas. Luckliy today's miss wasn't crucial. I know Shane has been on fire during the second half of this season however I feel that Harte is a better penalty taker.

Did he hammer it or sidefoot it like he did against Pompey? I don't like sidefoot pens because they are savable.

My God, that was incredible. I oxf*rd well love football. How on earth can you not? I've only seen us win 3 times away from home now, but for me, that's up there with the Everton result. Beautiful day as well, I was sweating buckets and boiling in two layers. Our support was great, really pleased we took so many. Everything about today was just perfect. Loved the now you're gonna believe us... song. I feel all warm and fuzzy after that! :D

Sidefoot IIRC. Fairly powerful but where he's put it nearly every time this season, i remember seeing him do an interview saying he likes to put em there but might change it, he did for Pompey but Camp gambled with him going left and he did unfortunately.

Extremely. Both sets of fans treated this like their own cup final and the place went mad after our final goal, naturally. The fire drill went in the Forest end after our penalty was given but all in all both fans created a very good atmosphere. Was always going to be one where both Nottm Forest and us needed their fans and proud to be a RFC fan after today

Top notch meat up in the Vat And Fiddle.
Stunning weather, absolutely top notch game. The best i have seen this season. First goal was a pearler from Harte. Camp got a slight touch on it but i think he thought Harte was going near post and was caught out. Howls of derision for Long after that one as they Forest support thought he went down too easily.
Their first penalty was so damned soft, Leigertwood getting turned McGugan who chose to go down. Dubious to say the least. (yeah, yeah - i know). Then the second for them. Earnshaw getting all flash on the corner flag. I thought here we go, against the run of play, Forest not deserving to win the match, but still the unshakable feeling we would still claw them back. We did that with style, pegging them level with Karacan somehow looping a header in when from my position it looked to be going over. Great response from the whole team to almost instantly peg Forest back. The team never flagged in their determination.
Bloody hell, Kebe!!!!!!!! Pandemonium from us as we took the lead. That was the loudest and most persistent chant for Kebe i have ever heard.
Another penalty for Forest - NUTS we are going to draw this though we shouldn't. The second half took ages, the minutes ticking away and blow me Church got the winner (though i thought this was counted as an own goal - hmmmm not too sure there!). This team have the confidence, desire and determination to not give up. A sheer pleasure to see.
Did we then go bonkers at the back, hugging strangers, back slapping and squeezing the last of my lost voice into a cheer.
THAT WAS GOOD.

4th Damn!
