Royal Rother supporters chanting abuse at, and songs taking the piss out of, other clubs' fans for whatever misfortune they might be dealing with, are a classless bunch of oxf*rd.

And if anyone has a problem with these people, they probably chose the wrong sport - cos it 'ent gonna change very quickly.

That may of course be true but the number who do chant this embarrassingly childish stuff are in the tiny minority. Most supporters do have a little / lot more brainpower than that.

Most supporters don't understand the concept of 'all in good humour' I guess.

Mad Dog's Ghost Well done.

2 nil up and our world was looking nice and rosy. So in the spirit of the day's theme, coming together with the away fans to pay tribute to Chris Armstrong, you decide to give it a round of 'going down, going down'.

No need.

Yeah, they probably are doomed, but they sure pissed on our chips.

Agree 100%. A facepalm moment for me.

I have to say though the atmosphere today was good compared to the cr*p it normally is. So well done to the boys for actually trying to sing for a change, even if all chants were at light-speed and therefore died very quickly.

But yes, a very pointless chant at the poor guys and in a way I'm glad they beat us, but then the defeat doesn't bother me much anyway.

^^^^Agree here, im up the back in y25,26 and obviously there was the usual "going down" that was to be expected.
But then once we let in the three goals in, i thought we supported the team really well, Hardly anyone just sat down and shut up and outsung the what i have to say was a poor support from united all day.

We are no different to any other team, even yesterday, i recall united singing " 2-0 and you oxf*rd it up"

Allyh84 I complained to a steward. The other day I heard "you're not signing anymore." I can't believe fans would be so plain mean as to rub in another club's misfortune. These people have feeling you knew.

Hmm. "You're not signing anymore". What sort of signing were you expecting. Are you deaf, and need football explained to you in sign language by the opposing fans?

FiNeRaIn Justice done, seeing a bunch of arrogant reading fans pouring out to cries of cheerio, cheerio at the end.

They were chanting that at the Reading fans? Absolutely classless, mocking the poor sods like that.

This is a non-thread isn't it?

Earlier in the season, Donny fans were chanting "we're just too good for you" when they were 3-1 up at the Madstad and we took great joy in shoving it back down their throats when we came back to win 4-3.

Yesterday it was SU's turn to have the last laugh. Hey-ho that's football, and in a wider context, life.

At the end of the day they're still going down and we'll still be in the play-offs, so quite frankly, meh...

royalexile As did we not so long ago. I thought they showed good humour, were naturally shocked and elated. The best of days for them.

Loved the soggy chips reference in one of their chants.

It's actually "Like a greasy chip butty". That's if you're refering to the chant I think you are. It's a chant to tune of Annie's Song. Morecambe also sing it.

Chant of the day
That's why you're staying down
.

In response to our earlier chant of
That 's why you're going down
.

They were quick off the mark with that one. And to think we're normally the kings of quick wit.
