I agree with those three words.

Cardiff, just like in the league game down here, were nothing special.
Yet we couldn't beat a well organised side, who closed us down at every opportunity.
We degenerated into Branfoot channel ball, particularly after the departure of the motivated and lively HRK.
Jobi had another of his peripheral games.
Manset looked like a cheap League 2 player. Big,strong, but can't trap a bag of cement.
That performance was most certainly not good enough to play in the Premiership

MmmMonsterMunch What exactly makes you think Cardiff were any better than us because from where I was sitting they're not? They're there for the taking.

I do think Swans will be a step too far but in one off games anything can happen.

This 2nd leg is on a knife edge - the Cardiff team & fans are just as nervous as us. It is a coin toss as to who will pull through & I wouldn't be surprised to see it go to pens.

The boys put in a decent shift tonight.....every single one of them & I never thought we'd get 5th so well done lads whatever happens on Tue.

I can see it going to pens too. There's nothing in this. I thought we played pretty well in the first-half but the second-half hoofball is not going to get us promoted.

Royal Lady I really enjoyed that game. We certainly surpassed my expectations.

Every single player played their heart out tonight, imo. The ref was questionable on a number of occasions - I nearly popped a blood vessel at some points. How can he book McAnuff and yet not Chopra? Bellamy going off injured was the turning point really - I really think they all look to him and the team is built around him - if it's a hamstring and he's out on Tuesday then it's still all there for the taking. Hopefully Howard Webb won't fall for the diving cheats, the time wasting, the somewhat feigned injuries and the obvious shirt pulling, hands round our players necks as I witnessed this evening.

We didn't have too many shots, but neither did Cardiff - if we can re-group, recover and hopefully have Jimmy - we can nick this by the odd goal.

Looking forward to Tuesday. Come on URZZZZZZZZ!!!

Great post! But now when I read one of your posts I start singing General B's version of the Royals anthem. :P :D

I oxf*rd loved it tonight. For me anything after the last day of the season was a bonus for me as I did not think we would even make the play offs let alone contemplate winning them. The second half was not as great but I loved every minute of the first half. Great atmosphere, good chants, passionate football. And I got to stand for the whole game just like the old days. Doom sayers have your say if you like. I aint bothered. Bring on Tuesday and come on URZ!

Reading may well suit being the underdogs for this match. Nothing to lose whatsoever. Can see it being a tight game with one of them perhaps edging it 1-0 but wouldn't like to say who. Too bloody tight to call.

not good enough.

it was a good run but its over. start the fire sale excuses. rumors of an nonexistent warchest. all that typical pre season hype and come to the same conclusion. empty promises.

bring on next season. new faces. new manager. new owner.

we can dare to dream.. again

What a load of shite. Wind up surely.

If we can go to Anfield and Goodison and beat Liverpool and Everton we can go to Cardiff and beat them. Good result and the pressure is all on the serial bottlers.

After watching that I am more confident than I was before the game, not because we were anything special just because Cardiff were a damn sight worse than I thought they would be!

Couple of observations.

Shane - you can't do everything.
Karacan - great pressing.
Defence - looked solid.
Manset - :(
Halsey -  :o

5 minutes of injury time???

I hope Howard Webb was watching that tonight!

superreadingfan im a super reading fan.. says alot when a superfan like me loses hope..

Losing hope when it's effectively 0=0 at half time makes you a Grade "A" twat.....................much the same as the w@nkers in our fan base who have been known to boo the team off at the interval with the score being level.

Sadly we have no shortage of fans who think there's something "super" about this sort of "support"

Great game, our boys did good.

Put everything into it. First to every ball. Winning all challenges.

McDermott is the main man.

Long was immense today as were Griffin and HRK.

Karacan great first half, ran out of steam as game wore on.

Very happy with the match today although would've loved for us to score.

Shame about the lack of shots but I thought we played well, and I enjoyed the game.

Anyone negative about the display probably watched it with some false expectation.

I thought we bossed the midfield ledge and Kara had great games. They won't be able to sit back at there place and we can hit them on the counter. But we do need Kebe. And losing Bellamy is a masive blow for them.

People don't seem to get it, performances don't matter, results do. Our record is 0/4 in play-offs and IMO we've more or less dominated every single game out of those 8, tonight was no different. We were the better side but once again failed to get the result. End product home draw, cardiff now favourites.
