Ridiculous to write off Manset. He had a poor one last night but basically he has come from Hereford one day and is then playing in a 4 team winner takes all £90M tournament the next. Give the guy a break and he might just score the winner on Tuesday night. Would probably drop Hunty for this one as I think Church and Manset offer more variety off the bench.

Think we will revert to 4-2-3-1 on Tuesday.

Fed
Griffin
Mills
Khiz
Harte
Legs
Karacan
Kebe (think we held him back for Tuesday)
Howard
McAnuff
Long

Bench
McCarthy
Pearce
Gunnar
Tabb
RK (or Antonio if RK unfit)
Church
Manset

Elmer Park HRK came off with a tight hamstring apparently and has a chance of being available for Tuesday. Think it will just be Howard for Hunt if HRK is fit. If Hal doesn't make it Antonio was so poor against Derby that I think McDermott would play either Hunt or Church wide ahead of him.

Sounds about right

Agree. Have Kebe go as long as he can if he isn't fully fit and when he hits the wall bring on HRK.

Agree, a semi-fit Kebe has to be an asset for sheer unpredictability. Risk him til/if he breaks. Then use HRK.

I think many saw that our midfield was a bit lacking on Friday, and feel the game could be won there.

CayeneMatt Manset?

Am I the only one in thinking he's completely out of his depth. His performance last night was terrible. just looks clumsy and unfit.

Karacan's burst through the middle and perfectly good pass to Manset went under his foot.
Jobi's cross at the end with the outside of his foot and Manset stood near the 6 yd box watching the ball go by without any attempt to get it.
To name but 2 ...

I was saying the same thing to my dad as we left. He couldn't even control the ball.
I'm sure, with hindsight, that McD would have replaced HRK with Howard when he was injured and left skinny Vegas up front, at least he can controll it (even though he was terrible on the wing).
Another thing with Manset is that when there's a lose ball, his first reaction is to check to see if anyone else is closing it down, when he realises he's closest, then he ambles over to challenge the defender. Long, Church and Hunt will all close the ball down quickly rather than wait for someone else to do it.
Maybe after a pre-season we'll get some performances out of him, until then let's stick with the hard working lads (Hunt, Church) we know will put a shift in, or go back to 4-2-3-1.

I don't want us to risk Kebe if he's not 100% fit or thereabouts. What about the final?!!

Pretty much the same bar Kebe in if fit.

Personally I would bring McCarthy back in though, I don't think it's much of a coincidence that since Federici has come back in the hoofball has returned in part. The full backs don't even look to get wide for a roll out as it simply doesn't come from him, it makes us a little more one dimensional.

Absolutely agree with this. Wouldn't change keeper again now but Feds is obsessed with his kicking to the extent that it is virtually what they used to call Wimbledon style as far as his play is concerned, I would tell him to only use that option if he sees a genuine attempt to launch a quick break. In theory there should be more opportunities to look for that away from home but I really can't remember his kicking ever creating much so should be used only in the right circumstances.

I agree midfield were lacking any creativity on the floor. Bring in Pearce for Kish, push Kish up to holding midfield player and move Legs into a more attacking midfield role. Kish plays as a midfielder for Geogia and he is so controled in his passing. Legs always looks dangerous when he goes forward. Bring on Karacan later as the older midfield players tire.
