Pretty sure he was linked with Southampton with Puncheon as a straight swap, but that was with QPR's previous owner with no money at all. Now they probably want to cash in on him and maybe buy someone better than Puncheon, wouldnt surprise me. Would be a good signing though

Everyone listen... We are not going to buy anyone. McDermott said that we were going to buy to please the fans.. Even if we do buy a player which is a rarity it will either be a free agent or a £50,000 signing.

He was signed on a 3 year deal in July 2008 for £250,000 - so QPR must have recently extended his contract - is that why we're paying what is reported to be £900,000 for him? To cover the contract he had with QPR (whatever it subsequently was) or is it because they think he is actually worth that much to lose him?
