Isn't it significant we have so many different varied opinions - both players and formations! - probably more than we ever have before?

I bet McD has exactly the same dilemma.

And here lies the problem!

Barring a minor few exceptions, the team is as far away from picking itself as it ever has been!

Sigh. where are you 2005, 1995..............

Give it three or four weeks and the team will start picking itself much better.

One of the major areas of contention is goalkeeper in terms of who people want to play. That's not a sign of a paucity of quality, it's a sign that we are overflowing with goalkeeping talent.

Once we find our feet, sadly around Jan / Feb the last couple of seasons, things will look a lot brighter. We've got 4 new players to bed in and a couple of very promising youngsters coming through too.

Ian Royal Barring injuries it'll probably be:

I'm hopeful of:

Federici
Cummings, Pearce, Gorkss, Mills
Kebe, Karacan, Leigertwood, McAnuff
Manset / HRK, Le Fondre.

 because I agree

Ditto that, but McD won't be brave enough (probably correctly) to put 2 debutees in straight away espec after the run we have had.

Like I've said, Feds got the nod, so he gets at least a 10 game run. Doesn't mean I've changed my mind about wanting McCarthy to be No 1 by the end of the season. Although if Feds can improve his command of his area and keep the mistakes out he'll be extremely hard to shift.

Think I'm settling on Manset starting with HRK to make an impact off the bench and inject some pace late on against tiring defenders.

Thinks Feds is on borrowed time and it is a toss-up between Beast and HRK.

I can see Alfie scoring two from within ten yards a la Cureton after the keeper fails to handle 35-yard blasts from the Beast. :D

What's happened to Khumalo? Has he been totally dropped or is he injured?

Terminal Boardom
Spud Gun I would like to see this with Le Fondre coming on around the 60 minute mark for whichever striker looks least effective ...

Federici
Cummings, Pearce, Gorkss, Mills
Kebe, Karacan, Leigertwood, HRK
Manset, Hunt

Subs: McCarthy, Gunnarsson, Obita, McAnuff, Le Fondre

Why wait 60 minutes to see who is the least effective striker  And I really do not see BMcD dropping the club captain. Do you?

I'm assuming that Le Fondre will take a little time to get used to Championship football. If McD puts Le Fondre in the starting line up straight away it will also raise the fans expectations of him ... if he struggles then it could damage his confidence. I would think a 20-30 minute sub appearance would be a good start to getting Le Fondre up to speed.

No I don't see McD dropping the club captain and I don't think he will drop both Griffin and Harte either. This is the team "I would like to see".

le fondre has to start, he's the only striker we have that is buzzing with confidence, and by the sounds of it he can't wait for the next training session every single day.

the question is who to partner with him. sadly i think it will be noel hunt tomorrow, but as much as i like him he has no pace and isn't supportive enough to partner someone like le fondre. manset or robson-kanu are the obvious choices, but i guess it's all about when they get their chance and then taking it.

I'd like to see this

----------------------Feds-------------------
Cummings---Gorkes---Pearce--------Mills
--------------Jem--------Ledge-------------
--------------------Jobi----------------------
------Kebe------------------------HRK------
-----------------Le Fondre------------------

with the possibillity of changing it up depending on how the game is going moving HRK up top with Jobi going wide

Bench: McCarthy, Hunt, BEAST, Bryn, Obitta

think we will see

----------------------Feds-------------------
Griffin------Gorkes-----Pearce------Harte
Kebe---------Jem--------Ledge-------Jobi
-------------Hunt-------Le fondre----------
