The day Mills is compared to Cannavaro to judge his performances thus far is the day HNA has finally gone bonkers.

FiNeRaIn There are plenty of young players good enough who people don't see as weaknesses, although I do take on-board your point. Regardless of age though, teams do see him as a weakness because he is. He's still been playing professional football for a number of years with a good amount of performances under the belt so its not as if its some 17 year old academy product coming into his first season. I agree with a lot of people that he'll improve in time and thats fair enough..however football is played in the NOW and I really think harte would give more to the team. Yes, he's slow...we know this. However he has a lot more quality in every other area than mills and will add more goals. He's also easily the best passer in the team and no one else can hit cross field balls like him, he's good to watch.

he was being skinned much more often than mills as far as i was concerned before being dropped.
not only that, but his lack of pace meant that the two CBs were being dragged out to his area any time anyone attacked down that side meaning their games suffered too, and the defence was generally all over the shop.
if McD sees an improvemnt in harte in training, then fair enough, ar at least waits till we lose a game. but until then he'll keep mills, and thats good imo.

i think"alot more quality in every other area" is nonsense imo- he never got forward at all,and so very rarely got crosses in which meant the oppo winger/FB had free reign down that side.

he was better in the air, but with pearce and gorkks in the middle i dont see that as an issue
he was better at scoring goals from free kicks, but he had his fair share into the wall, or miles over too

yes mills was marking the man who scored on tuesday for the 2nd, but he was right on him, goal side of him, and the guy pulled him/pushed him, and just got a boot on the ball first to poke it in. hardly war crime defending from mills imo-and id be more inclined to wonder why it took fed so long to get across his goal to cover the post that was being attacked.

The weak link in the side is Pearce, slow, unable to read the game and scottish

As a team we need a creative central mid.
