Jem is one of those players who you don't notice his work rate until he's out of the squad and you miss his distribution. Really plays well for the club and a fantastic success for the academy.

moo He's alright.

This, it never ceases to amaze me the fact everyone is either Pele...or they are shit. Over on the other thread Simon Church is being made out to be the worst player at the club whereas Jem Karacan is some god among men. The truth is much more towards the middle in both cases.

No he isn't. He's being talked about as a player who two season ago showed immense
promise and has fallen away. He may be being talked as third striker, maybe now fourth

But he isn't "SH!T" and he may well yet come good

melonhead you know nothing Friday s legacy - nor do i

we lost 5 million last set of accounts, and then sold 9 millions worth of players, while spending 1.8, so
depending on how much money weve spunked on wages we could be fine-especially as gates have been good this year.

The 5m was accountancy BS, but saying the value of the players was 5m less than last yr. This is due contracts closer to expiring etc.

Good performance from Jem yesterday and he continues to have a solid season.

He's been good, but the potential is there for him to be even better. Even if he turns into a 6-8 goal a season midfielder his value would be SO SO much more to this team.

Good player and always rated him, he gives the ball away a bit too cheaply at times and needs to pass it more, but one of the better central midfielders in the league.

He's just 22, 23 in 5 weeks. There's a lot of improvement in him yet.

Just wrote that and then remembered something. I'm sure when Jem was just starting to
get game time but wasn't a regular, he played more forward and made a few exquisite
through passes, one of which led to a Shane goal.

So is he incapable of those passes or is it the way he's being asked to play?

And (just tossing this out there) much as I love him in midfield he would be the
most energetic tough-tackling, bundle of energy overlapping fullback EVER.

Tough tackling? He's nine stone wet through.

He's an alright player, not amazing, not terrible, just alright

IMO he's never likely to become that sort of player. He's definitely an asset, but I just can't see him developing something to his game in goalscoring, that he's never shown any real indication of. But he doesn't have to become a goalscorer to be good enough to make it at the next level.

Maguire Tough tackling? He's nine stone wet through.

:| He's very strong for his size and frequently firm in the tackle and about as tenacious as anyone. "Wet through" is the last thing I'd describe Karacan as.

This might surprise you, but i think that's spot on. I think he'd be a better full back than midfielder. But we need him at midfield more and it would take him at least a little while to convert.

As a full back I think he's more likely to be Prem quality.

Billy Bremner , Nobby Stiles, I could go on. Being a small player has never been a barrier to being a tough tackler.

Zzzz once again your issue is with the poster and not the post itself. They should turn off the ability to see names of posters for the day and we might see the quality of posts go up.

The quality would also increase if we stopped the petty little jibes.

I agree with most of your post, but I thought your calling people 'pathetic' for going slightly overboard in their praise/critiscism was like the pot calling the kettle black.

I didn't call anyone pathetic. I said the treatment he was getting was pathetic. Clear difference.

you cant accountancy away millions every year, if its gone in one set, itll turn up in the next
and it does the club, and JMs wish to sell it at a profit no good saying there has been a loss when there hasnt

It's depreciation of assets and doesn't mean any actual money has disappeared. See the STAR article linked to on CP.
