Couldn't sleep Fri night, so I was browsing around the LTLF Nott Forest forum reading their thoughts on McCleary. Seemed they have as much confidence as we do. I was surprised that after the Chelsea game they'd discussed McCleary for England as well.

Anyway, I don't see him losing his spot in the near future.

Yes! Someone talking sense on this site for once!

I'm just gonna throw this out there, it doesn't mean I agree with it (I don't). But what about moving McAnuff into central midfield and also playing Kebe and McCleary?

Who misses out, Guthrie, Ledge, or ALF?

One possibility would be a five man midfield with McCleary playing off Pog

McAnuff = Elwood = Guthrie = Kebe
=========McCleary
=========Pog

That's a lot of speed and skill, not easy to defend against

There lies one of the major problems of the idea I threw out. The other being that McAnuff is probably best on the wing. Putting Jobi in central midfield might serve as a passable plan B though later in the season, should we pick up an injury to Ledge or Guthrie, for example.

If I was forced to choose who would miss out to Jobi my order of preference would be:

Ist: Ledge
2nd: Alf (and go 4-1-4-1 as we did against Chelsea)
3rd: Guthrie

Random outbursts at people who are not having a go at him followed by a generic "okay", classic 1TeamInBerks material.

Ledge would be absolutely last for me, leaves us with an utterly spineless spine. I agree he's better as a winger, I think it's all moot, because he's done nothing to be worthy of dropping and is our captain. So he'll continue on the left wing barring injury, suspension or huge drop in form.

Seriously, would it be possible for you to take a GCSE in English Language and get a pass mark in it before you post again? Please.

As someone that spent time trying to learn Spanish coloquialisms by reading (but not posting on) a Valencia CF message board, I can only guess that WeAre- is literally attempting to learn English. While I applaud this, I have to say, I cannot make out what is being said.

Isnt mcanuff naturally a cm though? I'm in favour of the 4-5-1 that we have been playing lately. It's been working very well so far.

I'm not sure about that as I only knew McAnuff since he joined Reading, and he generally plays on the wing for us. I also liked the 4-5-1 or 4-1-4-1 (whatever you want' to call it) system we played. My preferred line up for this system would be:

Pog or Roberts
McAnuff-Leighterwood-Guthrie-Kebe
Karacan

No.

The 4-5-1 we kinda played for some of the Chelsea game, although with Guthrie quite advanced, until ALF came on and not in any other game?

Hey, by all means people can PM me, but I just found that a bit of a strange use of the PM system, okay. At least he's good entertainment value.
