If i recall correctly, Jamie Cureton scored a hat-trick that night and we bought him at the next opportunity. Anyone fancy a January swoop for Walcott!

double d hardly the most embarrassing game ever. There have been so many worse. Arsenal are not exactly the worst team in the world (even their ressies). The ref did cheat us out with that extra 2 mins at the end though.

sorry mate but it doesn't matter who you are playing to lose 7-5 at home after being 4-0 is not only embarrassing but it's inexcusable the simple fact is Reading were only so good in the first half because Arsenal never got going once they did in that second half even with a reserve side they showed just how seriously lacking in quality the Reading sie is.

USA_Loyal_Royal i still cant believe it. this will be the most embarassing thing to happen to reading fc, until we lose the league with less points then derby! i pray that doesnt happen cause i have no idea what i would do.

The most embarrasing thing to happen to Reading FC? Or to you? Let's face it, our egos as Reading fans has taken a pasting tonight. The club will be fine though.

I have a mixture of emotions right now.

Just seen this on twitter:
@ReadingFC: "It hurts. But you also have to give huge credit to Arsenal for an incredible comeback. #readingfc"

:|

Alternatively we could give abuse to Reading for being a shower of shite.

McD has now shown though he is out of his depth. Redknapp can be our brave new leader

jd82 Let's get a bit of perspective eh....

Reading 5 - 7 Arsenal >>>>>>>>>>>> Reading 0 - 6 Bristol Rovers

All national radio stations, the internet, TV, they are all talking about the result. Don't remember that happening after the Rovers game

Perspective.......... described as the GREATEST comeback in football

andrew1957 Ridiculous over reaction from many on here as usual.

Perspective folks. We have just seen one of the most dramatic football games of all time in HISTORY and RFC played a big part in that. If we had put 11 in defence and Arsenal had won 1-0 most on here would be happy BUT we had a go at one of the great clubs and so nearly won. If the referee had not played 96 minutes instead of 94 we would have won!!

At least we showed spirit and fight - I am proud to support RFC tonight even if no one else is.

Yea I'm proud of the way my fecking mobile has been going non stop with people texting, the favourite being 4-0 and you F***** it up as well QPR fans on Sunday

Arsenal just weren't in the game first half and made us look good! They were awful. Walcott scoring just before half time made me think that they were going to come out fired up second half.

We should have been better second half, but Arsenal wanted it more. Not embarrassed at all, if this had been against a lower league side then yes, but Arsenal are top 4 finishers for the last how ever long.

Redknapp with some Russian Roubles will destroy this club.

That's it, it's finally happened, i've actually got a "chin up" "you'll beat QPR if you play like that first half" text from an Arsenal fan mate. Sympathy from the enemy...

They're comparing the result to when Sweden came back from 4-0 in Germany a couple of weeks ago, fortunately for the Germans they didn't have to play extra time... ;-)

No we showed we have a weak and inept squad lead be a manager out of his depth

And you are trying to take positives  Pathetic
