Royal91
LUX +1, some people on here have no real idea about football and have obviously never played the game.

Slow, always pushes out leaving a gap in the defence and the biggest culprit for the HOOF!

You talking about Pearce or Gorkss?

We can all pick out the individual errors of players that have led to some goals, largely from set plays (e.g.Legs lost Giroud at a corner and he scored) but many of the goals we're conceding are team failures not individuals. For me that was the most worrying thing about Tuesday night. Hopefully Brian can get them back to basics and be a bit tighter for sunday. I'd stick with Gorkss and Mapps but got 4-2-3-1 for qpr but i know he won't and we'll go 442 and the game will be open again.

So when Warnock off loaded both Legs and Gorkks from the QPR team that won the championship, maybe he wasn't so short sighted after all???

Poor game the other night, but apart from that I think he's been ok. Think he'd really benefit from playing with Pearce again.

Gorkss is great in the air, and good with the ball at his feet. He wins some incredible challenges for us and looks safe all the time.

*But* ..... it also seems that a lot of the goals that we're shipping have come from mistakes he's made. So it may not be a question of ability, because when he does things well he does them really well, but maybe it's concentration or something else that's causing these lapses.

Or maybe we need a proper defensive "organiser" - the back 4 aren't working well enough together as a unit. We need an equivalent to Murts marshalling them, telling them where to be and keeping their concentration through the whole match.

We dont have a problem with gorks , but Pearce is better and would rather Pearce was playing at the back

Gorkss has looked out of his depth, indecisive and even slower this season than he did last, where it didn't matter so much. He also plays too many 'direct' passes for my liking.

Strong beard though, I'll give him that.

Too slow, positionally poor, often pulled out of position, our set pieces are too rubbish to mitigate that with scoring, I can't remember the last time a clearance of his went to someone in blue and white.

However, he is my beard idol.

Seriously, people are talking about Gorkss pace, Pearce looks like he's running backwards!

leon He's good. He can play the ball, puts a tackle in and can grow a great beard. What is there not to like?

i like him, but he was playing worse than pearce when he was dropped, and has been at fault for a few goals, including half of them on tuesday night

I liked him from the moment he first arrived. He was terrific last season and was as important a signing as Roberts was as far as gaining promotion was concerned.
He has limitations which at times get exposed at this level though and in general this season he's been average at best.

Tuesday night though he was complete and utter mince.

He's been mince for a few weeks though, Tuesday night compounded the problem. Mcdermott has to see it soon.

Pearce did nothing on the pitch to deserve being dropped.

You lot do talk a lot of crap sometimes. Both Pearce & Gorkks are not good enough for this league. I left the Birmingham game end of last season knowing full well they would end up on their asses week in week out. No matter how you try to dress this up, they're slow, don't have much ability or calmness on the ball and are out of their depth in this league. Coffee. Wake up and smell it boys.

still remains that i believe marriappa and pearce to be our best two players at CB this season
regardless of how that works against some of the best teams in the world

Try to remember that the really important matches are versus

QPR, Saints, Norwich, Villa, Wigan, Sunderland and Stoke.

Not too many Torres, Walcott, Berbatov, Hazard, RVP types in there. These are the key games.

We have to be set up to WW, or WD these home/away matches and try to nick a few other points like v Fulham, Newcastle, Swansea, maybe home to WBA

This season, we can't even dream of challenging the top 8 clubs for points, but we can try and WW against the worst six of seven.

We won't WW those of course, but a side could stay up by doing just that (36 points plus the 4 we have)

Focher My only problem with him is that he's been complete and utter horseshit this season, apart from that m8 i agree lay off the guy

There is a reason why QPR sold him once they got to the prem, probably about time we realised the same
