mr_number As per usual, Vice is bang on the money on this issue:

Sloths are deceptively dangerous although slow-moving. As you observe, their claws are razor sharp and human fatalities do occur. They are most likely to attack if disturbed while sleeping when they will fly into a violent rage, lashing out at anything within reach
According to an interview with a Dr. Donald E. Moore, a man who hates himself enough to become a sloth biologist at Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D.C, one day a female sloth, for no good reason, came rushing towards him "upside down along a vine, as fast as a cat would run along the floor. She grabbed me and pulled my hand to her mouth and then bit."

MouldyRoyal Apparently leapoards make very good pets if you have one from a baby. They can be very tame.
Although I am not sure where I read that so I may have made it up in brendy-like hallucination.

Idealmr_number So, if you were to raise either a polar bear or a sloth as a cute little (/quite big) pet, which one would you go for? I reckon the sloth is likely to be a better bet long term.
You are SO wrong.
-The polar bear is white
-Sloths are colored
GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER MAN!

woah, that changes the terms of the argument quite alot
if the statement is- beware the sloth! vicious bastards- ill get right on board
if its - you are being forced to choose between a pet sloth, and pet polar bear, which do you choose?
