Results at Villa Park since I started supporting RFC:

1970/71 - L 2-1. Last game of season and need a point to stay up. Lose to disputed late goal and relagated to 4th Div for first time.
1986/87 - L 4-1. thrashed in league Cup 2nd round tie. Andy Gary scores twice.
1987/88 - L 2-1 - from memory we took the lead - relagated end of season -
2006/07 - L 2-1 - first away game in Prem - lose following taking early lead through Doyle.
2007/08 - L 3-1 - Outplayed for 90 mins and score consolation in last minute. Relagated end of season.

2012-13 - L 4-1 - score early but outplayed and overrun in midfield. Relagated end of season

There is also a cup loss in there, the round after beating West Ham on pens (Viveash scoring the winning one).

1-0 to a Dion Dublin toe poke if memory serves me right.

Anywayz 2-1 away win

Roberts, HRK, then Bent with a late consolation off the bench.

Hang on a minute... Relegated, survived, relegated, survived, relegated...

Yes fcuking yes fcking yes we are staying up! Learnt in history many years ago things happen in a pattern like Henry the eighth. Woohoo! Prediction loss but does it even matter. Till next season :)

I've been positive throughout the season, always 'expecting' a result for the Royals but I have to say that saturday was the straw that broke the camels' back: Unless we shake up our defence we're never going to survive. Our attack is actually pretty decent but that's meaningless if we just crumble defensively.

So my prediction, sadly, for the first time this season, is a Reading loss - 2-1 Villa.

And even sadder, I think it'll be hard for BmcD to hold his position for much longer if we do lose this. On the plus side, Di Matteo's probably gagging for the job - unless Southampton get there first...

We can't defend so another defeat is on the cards.

2-o to the Viila

0-0 Villa have 3 men sent off, hit the woodwork 4 times, miss 2 pens, Federeci makes 5 amazing saves.
Brian say we have turned the corner because we kept another clean sheet.

3-0 Villa

A bit of huff and puff, but we do our usual job of helping out a team who "need the points" (see Spurs home, Liverpool away etc)

I actually won't mind losing if we give a bit more thought to the team selection, play with a bit more imagination and stop making such basic errors.

Looking less likely that Saints will need to. They have been playing well and are now starting to get results. We are the complete opposite. Not that I think Di Matteo would be the solution.

Hopes are not high. Probably draw best we will do. We give teams at least one silly goal a game and create little from open play as usual. 1-1 but probably worst.. Really it is a must win game.

How many games left for BM before Anton fires him?

I think the players are about to cost Brian his job, so, maybe they should get their overpaid arses in gear and make sure they settle for nothing less than a win.

Yeah because Di Matteo has got a load of free flowing ball players to choose from...... Would fit right in at RFC.

Anyways - I will say 2-1 Villa after Reading go 1 up & everyone goes apeshit on here.

Aston Villa 2-0 Reading

Yet another game where we look like a lowly placed championship team who are playing a Premier League outfit in the 4th round of the FA cup.

We will score first again, in the first half, against the run of play from a set piece awarded from a dubiously given foul, and then Villa will score 3 in the second half to win 3-1 going away...while Villa, another struggling relegation candidate, has close to 70% of the ball and will look like Barca against us...with their supporters reacting with "Meh, not impressed. It was only Reading..." after the game.
