AirRaidSiren I don't get the anti-Lawrenson remarks. He's a wind up merchant and witty at that. I like him as a pundit and he's proven us wrong so far, hasn't he? Is that what irritate's?

Let's give him a reason to help change his mind, starting today with a win.

He's not witty, he's an idiot. And he should sort the hair out.

I didn't watch it but would I be right in thinking that he might have said that Reading are going down?

Tbf I'd say Lawro has been pretty accurate with his predictions re us so far! I suppose you want him to say we're going to win every week?

"He's not witty, he's an idiot."

According to you. Each to their own and all that

He never said anything bad about us, even went as far as to say we will win today( may have something to do with him being in the 1871 suite surrounded by reading fans) I just think he is a prick in general

Mark Lawrenson's Premier League predictions

Reading v West Ham

You look at the Hammers and, in a Premier League footballing sense, they are worldly-wise. You look at Reading in the same way and they are naive, in all departments.
Having said that, I fancy a bit of an upset here. On the back of their point against Swansea, Reading will go for it and West Ham's injuries mean Brian McDermott's side have got a chance.

Funny that, I do believe we finished 2 places above them last year? Beating them twice? What an utter bellend.

Personally I don't like him as he hardly does any research on smaller teams despite that being part of his job (which we pay him for via the TV license).
He's far from being alone on that though, Shearer is the same as he even said "No one really knows a great deal of him," about Ben Arfa. It's all very different from Gary Neville's excellent analysis, if he predicted we'd lose at least we'd know it was based on something.

Again, I'll reiterate, he's been right so far about Reading, regardless if you think he doesn't research smaller teams. We are naive in all departments, hence our league position. Pundit's also have personal opinions, like we all do.

I would say that we've been pretty good at not being naive in the last three games.

If this carries on, how long before we are labelled as negative, cynical oxf*rd spoiling the brand Premier League

He actually does say "in a Premier League footballing sense" - I think that somehow suggests he's referring to this season, not last.

I'm pretty sure when he was drooling over the free nosh that he said something about the only turkeys there today were our players on the pitch.

The problem with Lawro isn't that he doesn't rate us, it's that he constantly talks rubbish.

As an example, he spent most of the season saying we looked solid enough but would lack goals.

He also doesn't have the tactical knowledge or the knowledge of the laws of the game that Shearer and Hansen have, and none of the three have much knowledge of players (as evidenced by none of them having heard of Hamsik).
