Caskeys Lovechild If this proves accurate, then this is an absolute oxf*rd shambles.
I will, for the first time in my life, be ASHAMED to be associated with this football club.
It would show a complete lack of respect, and a complete lack of football knowledge - as the supporters who have been calling for this for a while, have also shown.

I suppose that given that we're likely to be relegated, that we should seek someone with proven experience of getting teams promoted from the Championship on a shoestring budget, of overcoming the odds, and delivering the impossible. Who does that sound like? That's right - the person you're all talking about sacking. oxf*rd morons.

What if he has decided to walk....? What's to be ashamed about then? If he has decided to leave as he feels that it is best for him and the club then you have to respect the man surely?

Respect him anyway. If he's gone - thanks for the high points Brian. Thanks for the Wembley experience and celebrating in the Purple turtle.

If we got a decent replacement in I don't think it would be a particularly bad move. But I'd be very surprised if he did get the elbow. I though his January had guaranteed him a job until November. But he has oxf*rd it up again since then, so its possible its not. I guess it depends how desperate Anton is to stay up. I don't get the impression he'd bet the farm on a quick managerial change to keep us up.

Can't see Brian resigning. He seems like the kind to hold on for dear life no matter what. And iirc he's said in an interview he doesn't believe in resigning.

If McDermott is a gonner we'd bloody better already have a good replacement lined up.

JordCot Unless they have someone to literally walk in and take his place what is the point? We are down, everyone is pretty certain of that there is no merit in sacking Brian mid-season, If he is to go (not my personal choice) do it in the summer when everyone has clear heads and can look at the situation objectively

Unless the person they want is currently available (ie Adkins) and may not be in the summer!?

Are there any reasonable clubs looking for a manager atm? I would be surprised if anyone else gets sacked so close to the end of the season

Errrr....Brian McDermott is well known to be an advocate of NEVER resigning. He has been quoted multiple times saying that he always advises people not to resign - so unless Zingarevich has brought in the heavies, then I don't expect him to be resigning.....

If he goes, I predict he will have a Championship team within a couple of weeks, and we will be watching that team flying high above us in the Championship next season.

@TimDellor The bookies think they are onto something regarding BM future. Tried to call BM, Gibbs and Hammond. No answer from any of them.

What if the moonpie fairy came down from heaven and waived her magic wand, turning McDermott into a mushroom so he couldn't do the job any more?

Step 1: Sack McD
Step 2: Appoint Gibbo as caretaker manager
Step 3: Watch Gibbo make Terry Connor look like Mourinho
Step 4: Watch RFC become the least funny joke in football.

That's fine with me because we'll hopefully be building a squad that can actually play football that will be much more suited to the top division when/if we eventually come back up. I like Brian and think he's a top bloke but he plays a really shit style of football that I'm quite frankly sick of paying to watch. Even when we won the division last year which was a great achievement we played shit negative football that is really boring to watch and his tactics are very basic as well and he has no plan b whatsoever. I'd rather he goes at the end of the season but it's definitely time he moves on because we can't go any further with him.

I would like him to go now, nothing will make a difference this season however if it helps us start well and compete next season then it must be a good thing.

Also probably more chance of us keeping the likes of Guthrie in the Champ if he does go, also probably take a look at Carrico to see if he could cut it in the champ.

All in all a good thing if he goes.

Sounds like the bookies are talking rubbish. Spoken to a couple of players who said trained as usual and suspect it is rubbish.

And relax.

Yeah but the players trained this morning, did they not?! - and even if they knew, they're hardly going to tell the media before its been made public knowledge

If true, the fans who booed his substitutions will be pleased.

He wouldn't be the first manager to take training in the morning, and collect his cards in the afternoon. Suspect it is hokum
