One of the best defenders to have ever played for us. How we managed to sign him I will never know!

Mick Gooding's not keen though. I think his description is something like "Great player, heart of a mouse."

I think Celtic thought his knees were shot. They were 12 months premature with their diagnosis.

Anyone on HNA? would get the answer to that one right for a change.

I think it's a direct reference to the injury thing. The game where he wanted to come off injured and Quinn 'made' him play on to the end of the match. Someone else mentioned it on here but there was a pretty big bust up over it iirc.

Great player, but sadly my main memory of him was making a bad error that let Bolton equalise at Wembley. Something i only noticed about 10 years later, it took that long to bring myself to watch it. He got cleaned out by Simon Sheppard at the start of the following season as wasn't the same after.

This one?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEYTa7-RMg4 To be fair the whole team was absolutely shattered by then. In extra-time Reading had nothing left in the tank.

Think I heard that Gooding's nickname for Dariusz was 'Biscuits'.

Think he and Matty Upson would be my all time Reading central defensive partnership.

Heart the size of a pea is what I was told. I was also bollocked for having a pop at Paul Bodin. I asked why he thought Bodin was a better left back than Dylan Kerr. Still, Micky Gooding scored the graetest goal I ever saw in my life.

Back to Dariusz, the guy was class. He and Simon Osborn brought some real quality to the side. I wonder had BMcD had them at their prime how he would have played the game?

Same one of the biggest losses in English football not having us in the Premier League for 95/96 BUT we wouldnt of been allowed to play at Elm Park. In fact groundsharing plans with the Swine were well underway if I recall.

Was that the goal against Stoke (I think) where he ran halfway across the pitch (South Bank to North Stand) because there was no route forward, got bored and just drilled it in from about 40 yards out?

Heart the size of a pea... that's it! I fooking hated Bodin. Him and Paul Brooker have to be the players I despised the most (for us). I don't think I've ever given anyone as much abuse as I gave Brooker. I was bit young and timid to shout too much when I was watching Bodin.

Jimmy Quinn accused him of 'throwing his teddy bear out of the pram'.

To this day I maintain that Dariusz is the best player I have ever seen in a Royals shirt.
