yuuichi I hope not. I was bored to tears when they came to the madejski. Awful football. I think they just bore the opposition and they attack when the opposition starts daydreaming.

They also just got lucky with the transfers, if it wasn't for Michu and the other spanish players that were brought last minute, they would be in the relegation fight

You were probably bored because we were playing. I went to the 2-2 draw at the Liberty in October and trust me, it was us that was the boring team. I don't know how the hell we went 2-0 up because they dominated us from start to finish and would have won comfortably were it not for McCarthy. If you want proof just look at the possession stats, 71% Swansea to 29% Reading.....

They get possession stats like that because the knock it around the defence for half an hour. Paint dries sooner than it takes Swansea to cross the halfway line.

I like how Swansea play.

But I'd rather we play like a shit Spurs/dortmund.

I'm sure we can play with 2 bombing wingers but also pass the ball.

I liked the Coppell way - build the best football team you can with the finance available, regardless of which division you're in. Result:- Promotion and then a big wake-up call for the rest of the Premiership. I don't believe in second-season syndrome, we should have carried on with the same idea and bought well. Unfortunately, the Ownership and Coppell lost the plot and we were relegated. A situation that should never happened the second time around.

Keeping possession of the ball is key.

Do that well and you have a good chance......

Swansea have done well because they have set the club to play a style of football. They wanted to play passing football, they brought in the managers who would do that, they brought in the players that would do that.

Now, Reading, well, we had Coppell, good football, quick, not so much about passing. Then we brought in Brendan Rogers. He wanted to play passing football, he didn't stand a chance with the players we had.

If you want long term success getting the right player, the right manager for the way you want to play can help a lot. The scouts clearly knew what was expected of them, find this type of player, not that type of player.

No Fixed Abode Manchester United should be the club to model yourself on. But each to their own.

winchester_royal Tbh, I think our infrastructure is superior to Swansea's, especially once the new training ground is built. They will regress to their natural mean at some point. We have more going for us in the long run.

This all rubbish

I don't think anybody has had a better decade than Reading in terms of moving upwards and entertaining the fans.

Pretty subjective, but Swansea have had pretty much the same journey but have actually put some silverware on the mantlepiece in that timeframe.

And as a result will be playing in Europe this season.

Wow, some deluded nonsense on this thread:

Swansea have been lucky with transfers :!:

Reading's long-term future more exciting than Swansea's :!:

Reading have progressed further in the last decade than Swansea have :!:

I am sure they are so envious of us as they embark on a european tour and we look forward to a trip to Burnley :!:

Yeah, this thread is a little reminiscent of the North Stand Chat ones we've derided in the past. Swansea are in a great position, they've had a great journey. I, personally, wouldn't want to switch places.... But to say that we've progressed further and have a brighter future than them is a bit rich.
